My nokia e71 is not recognizing my contacts.....when I get a call/text from someone saved in my contacts, the number shows up and not the name

if it is saved with different names in phone and sim it doesnt show the name once check it and try...

Do you have the name of the person and their number in your phone's address book? If not, add them.

for sending text messages :
1. call to your network operator customer care
2. request the message center number...
3.note it down
4. go to message settings>message center number
5. insert the number which is noted by you and save it
this solves your messaging problem ...

copy your sim contacts to your phone...by doing this press arrow down ,then option ,sim contacts ,mark all then copy contacts..thanks ,i hope it will help..

Go to your phone contacts and then add new contact by selecting options. You can try also typing a number directly as if your calling someone and press option and select add contacts.

It is possible that you have not saved the number in the name of person whom you are sending message, or you might have saved that number twice in your cell phone, i.e. either in sim card or in mobile phone or both.

There is another way to check this. Try dialing the same number, if it shows the name of the person whom you have saved then its fine. If it shows the number only, then it indicates that you have have his number saved twice.

Try, you will get through this.

Since you have saved the same number twice, it is not displaying the name of the contact. You should only save the contact once (international format preferred).

check your phone memory limit may be it is full.
if it is still empty u need to reset all settingms of your cell phone to factory defaults.
Go to setttings then reset your celll phone.
but i think your cellular limit is over for save new contact check it .
