Usb keeps ask for formatting why? please - Lexar FireFly 2GB USB 2.0 JumpDrive

Please restart your computer once before attempting to access your external drive again. If this issue continues, please temporarily use another computer to access the drive and run a virus scan on your windows 7 computer. Thank you.

Press Ctrl + Del + Alt keys at the same time. This brings up the Task Manager. Close any process that is not responding and freezing the computer. If all else fails press your computer power button and keep pressing until it restarts, hopefully normally.

Please try the following

1) Put into another USB port and try

2) Try formatting in another PC

If the above 2 fail then unfortunatley the flash drive is 'broken' and will need to be replaced

Try to format it using the method describe below:
May be it will help
Go Start>Setting>Control Panel>
Or Start>Control Panel>
Then open> Administrative Tools>Computer Management>
Then select In the left Column Click disk management
Then locate your pen drive and try to format with fat file system
Also you can try to remove the partition and create new one

Check on your usb port, it is the one causing the problem.

To test, try plugging the flash drive into another usb port. If it did not ask you to reformat, then it was your USB port.

I'm assuming that this was functioning at one point. If you are using Windows, Right click on my computer and click "Manage" Then go to disk management? Does it see the drive at all. If so, has a letter been assigned? It is possible that the operating system will show the drive even if it can't read the data. Look to see what file system and how it sees the disk having been partitioned. It is possible that your partition table has been corrupted. This can possibly be fixed using a tool like disk doctor or fdisk.

If, on the other hand, the drive is also making funny noises, you may have a mechanical failure on the drive.

insert your sd card with a fully loaded battery connect the usb port in and to the pc format sd card unplug usb anjoy

If it cannot complete a format, you want to return it as a defective item, where you purchased it, for replacement.

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
