I have a Linksys by CISCO Wirless-G WRT54G2 Router connected to a High Speed Ethernet Modem and to my Desktop Computer. It gets fairly good signal sent to my laptop across my house. I also have a Belkin router for spare. Can I connect a Belkin router into a port on my laptop or my other router to receive better reception?

If your computer has 3 bars of signal, it's ok, don't mess with it.
If you want better reception, you can connect the Belkin wireless router near your notebook with a cable to the Linksys router.

Routor not connecting to modum

That is connect.
You will need to connect the router to the modem with the Ethernet cable.

First connect the computer to the modem with the Ethernet cable. Make sure that you can access Internet without router.

Connect the computer to the Ethernet port 1 and modem to the Internet port on Linksys router.
Open the setup page of the router.
Change the Internet connection settings according to the Internet service provider.
Create a wireless network and then connect your computer and other devices to the wireless network.

With that particular model you wont be able to use it as a wireless bridge. You can however run an ethernet cable from the modem to any point in your house. the SBG900 i believe has wireless built into it, so you may need up with 2 wireless networks.

Hope that helps.

Yes. 1. Disable the DHCP in the belkin router. 2. Take the cable from the LAN port of the Linksys router to the LAN port of the Belkin Router. 3. Dont touch anything else in any of the routers.
This should help

Low connection speed through the router

10 mb sounds like a wireless ... 28 doesn't sound good for wire ... this is a 10-100 router it should run faster.

LinkSys is a Cisco company. Cisco also owns Network Magic and you can get a free down load for eval purposes copy of this very good network manager. After the eval period you can purchase or not. If "or not", yo can still use the product with some features disables.

So why get it? It is a very good diagonosis tool and it may help answer the question of why you only get 20 md connection.

Connect the cable from the LAN port on the DSL modem to any of the 4- LAN ports on the Linksys Swicth (not the port Labelled Internet), then from any of the remaining 4 ports then connect your computer. Also try using a cross-over cable to modem from the DSL LAN port to the Linksys.

Desktop and two laptops won't work with modem & router now

Probably you used the wrong type of ethernet cable, a crossover one. Try another Ethernet cable but this time a straight one.

No internet signal between router and desktop pc.

have you plugged everything in with the modem off and the router off?
have you tried unplugging the linksys for a sec then plug it back in?
also have you checked the pin connection on the plug on both the computer and the router?
what are the lights indicating?
