Do you mean a Weber (not Webber) Genisis grill? If so . . . see the information from the Weber grill company regarding the conversion of a natural gas grill to propane here:

Bottom line:
The Weber company does not recommend it and does not provide a conversion kit.

Sorry bout your luck. I have a webber. Cheaper modek, and it does the same thing. I.leave my lid closed ...turn it on wide open wait 30 seconds and start lighting.

It can be repaired, but you may have to replace the entire burner manifold, to fix that one valve. It does require dismantling the control panel and part of the inside of the grill's tub. If you can furnish me with the correct Model Number for your Weber Grill, I can supply you with more information.

Remove connection to tank, reconnect, open valve slowly, when you open valve to fast the tank valve has a shutdown in it, it thinks something is wrong and shuts valve down. Always open tank valve slowly when using.
Also your tank valve could be sticking causing this problem, to fix replace tank.

Try replacing the regulator.

if you have a down draft carby, you can just buy an adaptor plate to suit a down draft webber if the webber doesn't just bolt on, or if you want to use side draft webbers, you'll need a new manifold too

You're fine using a regulator, just keeps the propane 'regulated' : ) Since you already have it, I'd try the one you have. I'd figure your regulator for the big tank is set for low pressure, really may be fine by itself, but the additional one at the Webber end won't hurt anything. This is a YMMV, try cheapest way first using what you have, not much of a problem to change to the other one if it doesn't work.
