Water dispenser has stopped dispensing water. I have a whirlpool 25.4 cu ft. Side by Side Refrigerator

    have not changed the filter in over 4 yrs. The ice dispenser is working well, but only the water dispenser is not. I do not hear anything when I push the dispenser...i.e. no water solonoid draining noises...
    could it be the filter?

    Hi Milten,

    I am not sure if the ice is still dispensing. The bin is full and we very seldom use ice as it's fall season. Thanks for checking and responding!!

    I kept telling my husband that but he keeps pressing the reset button and but the light is still green.

There are a few things to check real quick
does your ice still work
does your ice make still work
when was the last time you changed the filter
when you do call for water can you hear the water solonoid

    wow id say yes it is the filter thewy are only good for like 6 mos

    just because you reset the light it does not reset the filter

    650 gals or 6mos

    so yes i do believe you need a new filter

Dirt in body of icemaker water supply valve. OR. Ice maker timer stuck when it selected "add water to icemaker.
The first solution is simple, change icemaker water filter and disassimble valve to clean.

How do you get the water filter out of refrigerator so you can replace it
Without knowing your particular model number, I checked and most 25 cu.ft. side by sides have the water filter in the grille. You just push a release button and it pops out. There is a cap on the filter, do not through it away as you will need it on a new filter. Also ensure the O-ring protective covers are removed on the new filter prior to installing. You can run the water dispenser without a filter as well. Here is a link to the PDF for one type of 25 cu. ft. Whirlpool side by side.

Very slow drip from water dispenser. How do I fix
Good day,
A slow continues drip, but still dispenses O.K. is caused by the dual water valve on the bottom rear of the machine not closing completely.
Only fix is replacing the water valve assembly.

I have a whirlpool side by side refridgerator about a year or more ago the water dispenser stopped working and now the ice cube dispenser also stopped working it is no longer making ice into the container....
Your water line into the refrigerator is probably plugged up. First, check at the cut-off valve where the house water connects to the refrigerator water line. Mineral deposits often form in these small valves and can block the water flow.

The other possibility is a blocked water line within the refrigerator. Plastic weedeater line works very well to clean out these lines.

25 ft side by side fridge which does not dispense ice
use a hair blow dryer to warm up the chute and dry up any moisture then lube the chute with a cooking spray, pam is a good one.

Water dispenser no longer dispenses water. Ice maker still works
Has it stopped completely or just slowed to a trickle. If a trickle you need to replace the filter. If stopped either the feed line to the fridge has been pinched/shut off or the internal line has frozen, or the valve is no longer functional.
