Kettle keeps turning off before it is boiled

Sounds like the thermostat has gone out of calibration. If you're handy with appliance repair it might be possible to purchase (internet) and replace that part - they're usually not adjustable. Otherwise it's a new kettle.

The switch does not automatically turn off when the water boils. If left alone all the water will boil out.

The switch has to turn off when the water boils as the heat generated must cut off the switch. If this wont work the bimetal is not working and the switch is not responding.
You will need to replace the switch. Please contact the dealership for the spare.

I have a new Bellini electric kettle. When I turn the kettle on, it starts to boil for a few seconds and then turns itself off. It will boil if I hold the "button" down for a while until it...

Unfortunately the problem is in the switch mechanism, and will need to be replaced to correct the problem. My sense is it would be cheaper to replace the kettle than trying to find somebody to repair it.

When filled with water & put on to boil it start's boiling as normal then after 10 or 20 secs.the lights inside flicker off and the kettle ceases to boil then the lights flicker back on and boiling...

I think you would only solve this problem by cleaning the thermostat contacts, or replacing the thermostat which wouldn't be worthwhile as it's likely to be cheaper to buy a new kettle.
Besides this , just getting into the kettle needs special 3 tongue screwdriver and then a certain technique to open it up without damaging the plastic parts. Im'e afraid its a throw-away world now and its not good .

Why does the water boiled in this kettle smell and taste chemically? Any boiled in a plastic kettle in my home is fine.

hello,

the chemical taste of smell from your kettle means that the element in the kettle which provide heat to boiled the water has gone bad due to over heating

this occur when there is shortage of water level in the kettle when the power supply is on

to fix up this problem of smell and chemical taste in your boiled water you will have to make a change of the element (heater)because it has gone bad you can get a replacement of it in the store .

thank you and thanks for using fixya.

Kettle not switching off after boiling so carrys on boiling untill you turn it off

To state the obvious, the steam sensor has failed. Unless you are quite adventurous, and confident dealing with electrics, there's nothing for it but to get a new kettle (unless the kettle is still within warranty, in which case you should be entitled to a replacement of course).

Kettle doesn't turn off

Our first Smart Kettle was great and worked well for years, finally died so we bought another. Right from the first boil it seemed to boil for about 2 or 3 minutes before turning off and then either didn't boil or made beeping sounds when not being used so after a couple of weeks we returned it and it was replaced. Great. But now this new one seems to boil and boil before turning off so maybe they are just faulty now. Any suggestions?

Water kettle does not boil water

I had the exact same problem. The kettle would warm water but not boil. I bet you have hard water - try putting 1/2 vinegar and 1/2 water mix and turning it on. I did this, fixed the problem!
