Motorola Cordless MD400 series - "Out of Range" message on display

Both cordless phones show "out of range" message. Not able to use phones. Red light on main console is not light up (charge/page). Possibly due to a malfunction of the power supply? Please advice.

I have uniden cordless phone model dxa15588-2, how do I register handset on base?

1-Press the hangup key (represented by a red phone) and the "#" key at the same time for at least five seconds.
2-Select "Deregister hs." Choose the handset and press the "Select" key (which also shows an envelope for messages).
3- Choose "Yes" to confirm deregistration. The phone clears its registration information from the base and deletes the link from its memory. The message "Handset not registered -- place handset on base to register. See owner's manual for help" now shows on the display. If you are out of range of the base, "Out of range" shows.
4-Place the handset in the base charging cradle. The phone automatically selects a new security code from those stored in the base.
5-Make sure your phone is working again after "Registration Complete" shows on the display
Hope this will Help. Thank you for using Fixya !!!

I have a Motorola cordless phone system but lost the power cord to the base unit. How can I get a replacement? MD7161

You can either ring the manufacturer for the part.
But this is expensive, or try on ebay for a decent price.
Hope it helps!

if battery has a charge then its charging --if not working when battery reattached then problem is with phone circuitry or plug connections

Out of Range

It needs to be re-synced to the base unit. Check manual for exact directions, but it could involve anything from unplugging battery and base unit power, resetting in cradle, and anything else......

5.8 GHZ Motorola Cordless Phone, Base w/1 additional phone

This is not a problem with the battery but rather the phone has lost sync. You can get it back by going to the menu screen then going to register. The phone will walk you through from there. Mine lose sync from time to time and I get the same error. I have these phones both in my shop and home.
Hope this helped you out...
