The TV will shut off by itself randomly (anywhere

Sounds like the TV is going into the "protect mode", usually means there is a failure present and it's shutting down to ward off any serious damage to the electronics. The status light will usually blink a error code along with this symptom, call a service center and let them know how many times the light is blinking in a continious pattern and that will help them to diagnos your TV problem. Good luck and Merry Christmas!

Hdtv rca

You need a new lamp. Your lamp have been blown. You can purchase the lamp from rca or other vendors on the net or you local tv store and you can also install it yourself. The lamp is usually located in the back of the tv on the side of the protruding back. Next time you do install your brand new lamp, when shutting down your tv wait for your fan to shut off before disconnecting the power cord. Doing so will shortened you lamp life.

Please see http://www.fixya.com/support/t1011937-transformers. It sounds like your flyback transformer is not properly soldered down/is failing.

Coolant leaking

the coolant has done 1 of 2 things. (1) most likely it has shorted components on the circuit board. (2) also very likely that the affected tube has cracked without the coolant and thereby shutting down the set.

Tv repair

HV splitter and flyback are common failure items. Remove the HV lead from the HV splitter that comes from the flyback, Place that into a dry glass jar secured so it doesnt come out. Then try powering up the set if the set powers up without shutting down the splitter is bad.

I see this all the time at the shop the processor stores the error that caused the shutdown and as a technician we read these useing specail computer inferface. as the owner the one thing that you can try is to uplug the set and plug it back up after about 30 min to hour.( i have never seen this work) but it the first thing you can try. THese sets can be bought at walmart for around 800 new. average repair bill is about 400. these sets can be trouble.

RCA D52W19 (52"HDTV)

The common culprit for this problem is a defective Focus/Screen control block. It is located behind a removable panel in the front under the speaker grill. It is a little black box mounted up along the top of the opening with two rows of three openings for adjustment of the Red, Green and Blue "focus" and "Screen" (brightness) settings. They often get contaminated with dust which is attracted by the high voltage flowing through this block. It is held on by a single screw and has 9 push on/off wires into the back of it. The replacement is fairly straightforeward, just keep track of which wires go where. Leave the set unplugged and powered down for a day or so and the voltages should all have bled away to ground by then.
