Installed new ink cartridge and will not show that cartridge has been installed- tried 28A and didn't work - picked up 28 cartridge and installed same problem

Please note that if you have refilled your 28A cartridge, it can no longer register it's ink level. However, since you also tried a different cartridge which did not fix the problem, I would recommend you to contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

My lexmark X5410 will not accept the black and colored refilled ink cartridges from walgreens. It keeps reporting that the right cartridge is missing.

If you have refilled the cartridges 28 and 29, it's pretty normal that your printer won't print. Those cartridges are not for refill (they can be refilled, but won't work once the printer says they are empty). If you have refilled a 28A and 29A and it doesn't recognize the one of the cartridges, try removing them and clean the electric contacts with a dry cloth. Put them back in. If that doesn't help, I suggest you buy a new cartridge.

Problem with ink refills

Yes these two should work with your model. Here's also a link to the cartridges for this model for your reference.

"Lexmark does NOT support the refilling of its ink cartridges.

Refilling the ink cartridges can cause them to leak, thus clogging or even damaging the printhead.
Any damage to your printer caused by refilled ink cartridges may not be covered under your warranty."

Cartridge problem w/ Lexmark 2500

ok so I am the only one that I have seen on the net with the solution. If you use the 28a and 29a cartridges not the 28 or 29.....This will only work with 28a or 29a. What you have to do if you want to refill these is "pop" the top off the ink cartridge......If you do this it will read a full cartridge everytime. If it will not notice your cartridge you have to get a new one as the circuit on it is shot.......

Refilling lexmark x5070 ink

I have this same printer. The print cartridges have chips in them that disable them after a certain amount of print jobs, even if there's still ink inside. You can not refill them. I will never buy another Lexmark, they are obviously a greedy company that cares little about their customers.

Refilling lexmark cartridges x2500

There are a couple ways to trick it into accepting the cartridge. You can put a different one in, take it out and then put the filled one in. Or you can find a refill kit with instructions on what contacts to cover with tape and you have to do it 2 or 3 times to get the printer to reset. Sometimes you can shut off the computer and printer for 20 min and start it up again. Or you can get the sledge hammer and smash the stupid printer before it sucks up your life savings and vow never to buy from a company that profits from causing problems that they tell you can only be solved by using more of their overpriced solutions.

Using refill cartridges

That is because they cannot e refilled. The ones you get with your printer ( 28 & 29) are what Lexmark calls "return program cartridges", which means they are for one use only.
I suggest you buy other cartridges that can be refilled. Those are either 28A or 34 (black cartridge) and 29A or 35 (color cartridge).
Here is a link to Lexmark's site, where you can see the list of cartridges that are compatible with your printer.

Hope that helps!
