Why won't heat on inside although hot air comes out on side of microwave?

The heat could be coming from the magnetron. they will still heat up even if not outputting any power. the magnetron is more than likely bad.

No Heat

The microwave sends out a strong radio frequency burst that vibrates the water molecules in your food and causes them to heat through friction.
No heat means no rays..means a new microwave! Cheaper than fixing..go to Craigs list

THE MICROWAVE WILL NOT HEAT

The microwave uses a magnetron to heat. They can go bad. It is the most common problem with a microwave that works but doesn't heat. partselect,com has the part, the diagrams and pics, and everything else you will need to change your magnetron

Microwave does not heat anymore. the microwave comes on but does not heat...we did change the fuse...but still does not heat...any suggestions.

Sounds like the Magnetron has stopped working. The Magnetron is is a specially designed powerful magnet that generates the high frequency microwave energy used to heat food.

if your microwave does not heat up when turned on its maybe the coil is burnt out are fuse broken, so check your dealers

Doesn't heat

If the microwave is working ok, it should heat up. First check the fuse inside if it ok then it looks like your microwave generator has gone bad. You will have to take it to the vendor and have it fixed with warranty.

Check the door safety switches ... remove the cabinet and check the micro switchs you find involving the door with a volt/ohm meter

If you turn it on to cook and everything works like it's cooking,, is there a strange hum/buz to it? If so replace the magnatron and diode. There is a 10yr warrenty on GE magnatrons, so it would only cost the Home charge & labor if you call GE for service.
