Screen went blank sound still works LG will not help me except to say pay for it yourself. I have only had tv 3.5 years and hope it is just the fuse but how do I get to it?

Most likely the back light for the LCD panel has failed. Three years seems to be the norm for these things. Manufacturers don't make sets to last ten years like they used to. That way they can sell you a new set every 2-3 years. Take that into consideration when you buy your replacement. You might be able to have this one repaired, but the cost is usually such that you are better off with a new set simply because the newer sets have better features. Just don't pay for more than you need right now since you'll probably be right back here in three years again.

check and replace Transistor Horizontal and power Regulator, one of them must have been damaged / short

Hello, if the model number is correct it's not a projection tv, but an LCD tv. If that's correct, it sounds like a bad main board issue part # is AGF31218501...thanks

My TV does this too. i know how to remove the white screen but the top will still have power only vo4.52.00 to get rid of the white screen press 'return' on your TV remote (not direct tv remote) then change the input pack to whatever it is it needs to be on to watch your (whatever)

You will either have a fault with the inverter board which drives the backlights or a faulty backlight in the screen. If the problem is a backlight then a replacement screen is the only cure. One or the other is breaking down after it has been opn for a certain period of time, have an engineer call out & check with a tester if it is a screen problem.

Unfortunately, that board is the inverter board. And for this model the inverter board is only supplied with the the PDP panel. The panel is quite expensive, here's a link if needed:

check oscilator crystal on main board, need scope to do that is a 50 mhz. hope this helps

I've had this happen twice now and both times my warranty has just expired by a month, i spend and hour moanin on the phone to xbox but they still want me to pay over £80 to fix it!

So here is what u do; **** and moan to all your friends impotently about it, look at the xbox for long periods of time with distain while muttering insults to yourself, call Bill Gates a complete W**ker repeatedly for a few days and then swallow ur pride in a big lump and end up payin for the damn thing while emtily promising yourself that if it happens again your not getting another one! When it finally does happen again (one month after the warrenty runs out to the day no doubt) repeat the prosses!
