The line is supposed to advance automatically, and mine did the first couple of times. But it no longer advances, and I have to take it apart and manually advance it.

Did you restring it? If so you may have crossed the line over itself too many times. Try to take all the line off and restring it again. Good luck...Lee

Does not advance line when Ibumpthe head. Is it supposed to. It is new.

no this is a autofeed head it is suppose to maintain a length of cord automatically . but as it does not say in manual ill let you know a few unwritten details , it will only feed line out when ran at full speed , and it automatically cuts ends of new line to keep a sharp edge, so caution ends can come flying off at anytime with no warning , these sometimes do have a problem if one does not observe direction of arrows to show direction too wind new line on spool, or if line is wound too tightly on the spool , line should slip off the spool with ease , less line is more line in this case

Lost owners manual, how do I advance the string

Hi don watts46...
Bump the rotating end of the trimmer on the ground while it is running and it will automatically feed the line out, the more you bump the more line feeds out.

I just dragged this projector out of my grandma's basement. I have a new bulb and the projector appears to be in working condition except for the slide advance--the slides advance continuously. How...

There is usually a sliding tab on the side of the projector (behind the handle) that toggles between "manual" and "automatic" advance. (Some models will have a couple of pre-set advance settings between "manual" and "automatic." These usually advance the slides every three to ten seconds.) Push the tab to the manual setting--this will allow you to use the buttons towards the front of the machine to advance your slides. If moving the tab doesn't work it may be broken or jammed.

Spool does not release line when tapped

You do not need to bump the head to advance the line. The machine has automatic line feed. If the line will not advance, then there is a problem with the line spool, possibly a tangle inside on it. Here is your instruction manual.

My corolla pings alot ignition timing set good timing belt placed properly new cylinder head gasket car mileage 245489

Number of possibilities.
One rare situation is that accumulated carbon in the head can increase compression and require a switch to premium gas.
Another is that the compression is supposed to be high but that they count on the EGR to poison the mixture enough to prevent it. So a malfunctioning EGR can cause ping.
Another is that the in some cars, the centrifugal or vacuum advance can be weak and cause timing to be too advanced when reved up.
Most cars also have a knock sensor that is supposed to automatically prevent ignition timing advance if the fuel is not up to it, and it could be bad.

First thing I would try is a tank full of premium, or an octane additive. Then I would try backing off the ignition timing, regardless of what the spec says it is supposed to be. I would also check the timing with all hoses on, with a strobe light, and at high RPM, to check advance.

String on weed wacker does not automatically advance.

the notice on the trimmer says it has an AFS Automatic Feed Spool, "NO BUMPING REQUIRED". I see that underneath the spool, there's a small plastic centrifugal weightwith a peg on it. . It kinda looks like it might advance the line each time the electric motor starts and stops. If there are loose clippings in there, or if the weight is stuck, it probably would cause the problem.

Timing on a 1990 Wrangler with a 4.2 liter

4.2L 6-Cylinder

1. Set parking brake. Shift automatic transmission to Park or manual transmission to Neutral. With A/C off, start engine and attain normal operating temperature.

2. With ignition OFF, connect an ignition timing light and a calibrated, expanded-scale tachometer.

3. Disconnect 4 " and 10 " Hg (CEC System) vacuum switch assembly wire connector (located at top of valve cover). Disconnect and plug distributor vacuum advance hose.

4. Start engine, increase engine speed to 1600 RPM and check ignition timing. Adjust timing to specification listed on Emission Control Information label (if necessary). Tighten distributor hold-down clamp and recheck ignition timing.

5. Turn engine off and remove timing light and tachometer. Connect No. 1 spark plug lead, if disconnected. Unplug and connect distributor vacuum advance hose. Connect vacuum switch assembly wire connector.

NOTE: If timing light has an adjustable advance control feature, turn control to OFF position.

Timing is set per the emissions tag under hood.

I do not know how to load my cd changer. it is supposed to hold 5 cds, but I can only load one at a time.

On the face of your player you should have a couple sets of buttons relating to advancing the cd in the player. One should be for advancing the next track on a given cd, often designated by a single arrow. The second is for advancing to the next cd and will be designated by a double arrow symbol.
While the drawer is open try press the the double arrow button. This should advance the player to the next empty position. If this fails you may want to try the other buttons as well.
