Look at the compressor. On it you will see a voltage rating, this is usually on a sticker or metal plate on compressor. Whatever the compressor is rated at is what you need as a power source.

Hello, I bought fellowers powershred SB-15C in USA. Now in Europe I need converter from 220v to 110v. But I don't know what is the power of this item. Could you help me? Thank you.

has it got a current rating on its label ?
if it does multiple voltage and current together to get idea of power rating in watts
Voltage x amps = power in watts
if current is 10 mA it is 0.010 A
1 Amp would be 1 = 110 V = 110 Watts

I have a electric dryer Model WED5810SW0 THAT I WAS TOLD I COULD CONVERT TO 120V from 240v is this true and if so how do i do this?

If you consider doing this the first thing is SHUT THE MAIN BREAKER OFF. Use an auxiliary light source to see when working in a dead panel. Always keep in mind an ARC FLASH ACROSS HOT MAINS HAS ENOUGH HEAT TO PEAL THE SKIN OFF OF YOU. Before an explanation of how to do it you should keep in mind that this is for a single receptacle only. If any other receptacles are on the same circuit they will also be changed to 240 volt receptacles and if you plug any 120 volt device into them, the 120 volt device will be destroyed. That said OK, any 120 volt outlet can be changed to 240 volt by removing the 120 volt circuits neutral, re identifying the white wire with red or black phase tape and connecting it to a new 2 pole 15 amp breaker. The maximum that this circuit will now load up to is, on #14 wire at 80% = 12 amps at 240 volts. The 120V receptacle must be changed to a 15A - 240V receptacle so that 120 volt devices can not be plugged into it. Never use 2 single pole breakers together because code requires that on a fault trip both legs of the 240V circuit must be disconnected simultaneously. Voltage converter buying guide. Voltage Transformer Buying guide.Voltage converters also known as voltage transformers are devices that convert foreign electricity to power devices from different parts of the world. A step down voltage converter is a 220 to 110 volts converter. A step up converter is a 110 volts to 220 volts converter. Our 2-way converters are voltage transformers that convert power from both 220 to 110 volts and 110 to 220 volts. They also work with 100 volts, 110 volts, 120 volts, 220 volts and 240 volts. This model is a 2 way voltage converter / voltage transformer available in many different sizes including 100 watts, 200 watts, 300 watts, 500 watts, 750 watts, 1000 watts, 1500 watts, 2000 watts, 3000 watts and 5000 watts.

I am replacing the original 40 year old Sears Coldspot thru-the-wall A/C unit that is 17,700 BTU/ 2800 total watts(cooling) and 14.0 to 14.5 amps. I can't tell if the electrical outlet is a 110 or 220...

You should be able to tell just by the plug. If it's like a normal plug you usually see it's 110 if the cord end has a slightly bigger end or has the prongs going in different directions. If it's directly wired it will have two hot wires and one common for 220 or one hot one common for 110.

Hi .. am in a country that has 220V power outlets. What do I need to use my kitchen ais that has 120V, 60hz and a maximum of 330 Watts requirements?

You need a Step Down Voltage Converter (also called a Voltage Transformer)
which steps down 240, 230, 220 volts to 110 volts and
allows you to use 110 volts Devices from USA in 220 v / 230 v / 240 v Countries

My country use the 220 volts system do have to use a step down transformer of plug it in direct.it has been a year i have not used the appliance having no information on wattage

If your microwave is wired for 220 volts AC and your country standard house current is 220, and the plug is of the proper configuration, plug it in.

Standard microwave size is around 1100 watts at 110 volts Normally, two times the voltage is 1/2 the wattage. Ohms law, Voltares Law and Watts Law apply.

If your microwave is 1100 watts at 110 volts --- yes you will need a step- down transformer of some type.

Hello ,my germ guardian 5A54A265 ultra sonic humidifier is 110 volts from what i read on it ,i moved to Germany with my husband ,and here the voltage is 220 volts ,my Question is can i plug it in the...

You need to use a transformer and it needs to be capable of supplying enough power to operate your humidifier. There should be a plate on the humidifier that shows it's requirements in Voltage and either AMPS or WATTS. The transformer needs to be able to supply approx 20% more Amps or Watts, at least, than your humidifier uses. It's ok if it can supply a lot more than this but not if it supplies the bare amount required or less. The transformer will show this as Output in either WATTS or AMPS.

As some appliances quote AMPS and others quote WATTS you may need to convert between amps and watts this is how you do it.
WATTS = VOLTAGE multiplied by AMPS. and
AMPS = WATTS divided by VOLTAGE.
Also note Kw stands for Kilowatts or thousands of watts.

The voltage you're drawing is 110 so that's the figure you use.

How can i convert our 220 volts wall outlet to 110 volts for a microwave oven.

Find the breaker for it (a double for 220) and substitue a single breaker (for 110). This will leave one wire unused from the breaker box to the outlet. You'll have to change the outlet of course to accommodate a normal 110 plug. You can also skip the breaker part and just change the outlet and cap off 1 of the hot wires. Just make sure to kill the power and be safe!

Low voltage only or can timer be used for 110 v

1 hp= 750 watts
125 vac = 125 volts alternating current, wall outlets
5 amp= 5amps

125vac x 5amps= 625 watts

a timer is a switch with a clock on it. just like a switch in a lamp cord.
