Sounds like system software needs to be replaced... re-installed. It probably got corrupted somehow since it is not rebooting properly. Use the original discs that came with the computer. Thnx
Check the caps in the power supply first. Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed SAMSUNG monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague http://www.badcaps.net
The flickering picture usually indicates that the power supply is failing. The most likely cause of the power supply failure like this is capacitors either drying out or bulging from over heating. We have a page on our web site at: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/capacitors/ This article wexplains what capacitors are, what you will need to look for to identify the failures and which brand and series to get tof rht replacements. In most cases you can open the monitor and look over the power supply and see obvious bulging on the capacitors that are failing. If you replace them you should be back in business. If you have additional questions just let us know.
I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.
reynolds3d, Nothing new here. Happens a lot. 932BW will need to have some work done to the unit's SMPS probably. Read my fixya profile and make decision on what you will do based on info found there. 12fixlouie
you can change the size of the screen by going to the set up screen (menu) then adjusting the third box down the coarse and fine and the verticle and horizontal positions my settings are course 1798 fine 48 h position 56 v positiion 50 hope this helps regards Jim
If you are getting this message, then rhe problem is not with your monitor at all. It is actually with your Windows XP operating system. Your monitor is working fine. Though to fix the problem you would need to get your Windows XP CD and boot off the disc, if you boot from the CD you will get a brief message "Press any key to boot from CD..." as soon as you see that you need to press any key within 5 seconds. If done successfully you'll see a different screen and its a blue screen with loading files on it. Afterwards it will be on the setup page so press "R" for recovery console and on the command prompt you need to type this command: CHKDSK /R and it will run scan and repair of Windows. It will take sometime, afterwards it will bring you on the prompt and you just need to type EXIT to reboot the system. Just let it reboot to Windows and see if it works.
Hi...there, That's indicated your backlight inverter are busted. Need to replaced a new one or repaired it. To repaired look for a bad capacitors with a bulged on top of each caps. Not sure, just replaced all the caps... Have a nice weekend!
