Hooking up vcr and wii game with out disconnecting one or other

There may be a problem in one of your hookup cables and not your system. Try purchasing a new connection cable (where to buy). You can also try borrowing the cable from a friend to see if it solves your problem before purchasing a new item.well I guess that you will have to hook it up to a DVD player or a VCR player to have it work on a digital tv
Note: pictured above is the original Super NES. The redesigned Super NES uses the same hookup steps listed below.
Installation Steps:

Locate the Audio/Video inputs on the back of the VCR.
Place the yellow end of the Stereo AV Cable into the Video "in" on the back of the VCR.
Connect the red end of the cable to Audio "in" Right. Connect the white end of the cable to the Audio "in" Left. Use a slight twisting motion when inserting each cable and ensure the cables are firmly pressed into the input.
Note: If you have a mono VCR with only one Audio input, click here for a diagram of how the hook-up will look. The Y-adapter pictured is optional; you can also simply leave the white cable disconnected instead.

Connect the rectangular (gray) plug of the Stereo AV Cable into the "multi out" connector on the back of the Control Deck.
After system is connected to the VCR:

Insert the Game Pak firmly into the Control Deck.
Plug the Controller(s) into the front of the Control Deck. Use the far left port for player one.
Plug the AC Adapter into the back of the Control Deck. Plug the other end into a wall outlet.
Set the VCR's TV/VCR button to VCR. You can put a movie in the VCR, press play, make sure you see the movie on the TV, then press stop. This puts your VCR into VCR mode.
Slide the Power Switch on (toward Game Pak).
Turn on the VCR and locate the input select. It is often called: input select, AUX (auxiliary), Line, Line In, Input, Source, Select, In, or EXT (external). Switch the input select to show the Nintendo game.
The Game image should now be displayed on the screen. You are ready to play!
Recording Game Play

Set up the Super NES to play a game.
Insert a videotape and press Record. You can now tape your video game playing for posterity!

To play the game you need to hook up three main things.

• First plug in the RCA cables (red, yellow, white) to its corresponding jack on the wii and colors on the TV
• Then plug in the sensor bar into the wii and place it either above or below the TV
• Lastly hook up the power into the wii and the power outlet.

Power it up and play!

Your wii automatically set itself to HD but your tv doesn't support it. You need to change your wii to standard definition under video settings.

Will try cleaning the game packs out with quips and vinegar try connecting it to a DVD player or a VCR then.
Installation Steps:

Locate the VCR's VHF IN [ANT, CATV, 75S(ohm)] or Cable Connector.
Disconnect the existing cable wire from the VCR's VHF IN.
Connect the short, thick wire from the RF Switch (labeled ANT) to your VCR's VHF IN.
Reconnect the existing cable wire (disconnected in step 2) to the silver post labeled ANT on the RF switch.
Connect the thin wire from the RF Switch (labeled Control Deck) to the back of the NES (labled RF Out).
On the back of the NES, set the 3/4 switch so that it matches the channel of the VCR.
After the system is connected to the VCR:

Insert the Game Pak firmly into the Control Deck.
Plug the controller(s) into the front of the Control Deck. Use the far left port for player one.
Plug the AC Adapter into the back of the Control Deck. Plug the other end of the cord into a wall outlet.
Press the Power button on the front of the Control Deck.
Turn your TV and VCR on. Set up your TV and VCR the same way you would to watch a movie on the VCR.
The game image should now be displayed on the TV screen.

u probably dont have the connector hooked up to the wii

It sounds like you do not have an open spot for the WII connections. If not, you'll have to get some type of A/B switch so you can select between devices. Most electronic stores (even Walmart) have an auto select switch (for up to four devices) for about $20. You can hook the WII, etc. up to it then hook it up the the TV (assuming) and when you turn the WII on it will auto switch to the WII.

Adjust your Wi-Fi settings until it works.

ok u can hook it up though a dvd player if ur tv wont support it make sure ur on the right channel though

yes and no - you can unhook one device but the connectors will soon go bad (connections on the board) - better idea is to hook the wii in the the vcr and put the vcr on input 1

Please check the back of the Wii for loose or disconnected cords. Also check the back of the television for loose or disconnected cables. Also if you use an adapter and the Wii runs through a different source before the television such as a VCR, or DVD Player, Check those to. Hope this helped! Have a great day!
