Yes, normally you remove the door for ease of access, then remove the shelves and access the element from the front. Then undo the fixing screws and pull the element forward. The contacts have enough wire you can pull the element forward to undo the electrical contacts. Make sure the power is OFF! See the videos.
Could be the switch, the element that ate faulty or it could be the fuse that has blown. With a volt meter, check that there is power at the element with the oven set to grill. If there is power that rules out the switch and the fuse. If there is no power, check first the fuse and then look at replacing the switch. If there is power at the element, switch off the mains and do a continuity test on the element to check if that is faulty.
