Washer constantly fills with hot water even when turned off.

My washer will constantly fill with hot water even when it is not running. I have to turn the valve off to stop it. It will keep filling until it overflows. The cold water is fine.

Mine is cold water running in. I wonder if I connect old to hot and maybe put one of those things on there where water will mix before it goes into machine. Maybe that will work. Sure can't afford $50.

Sounds like a bad mixing valve. To verify that it is the valve you need to turn off the washer when it is filling. If water keeps running, replace the valve, Cost is under $50. for most washers.

Washer fills with hot water even when unplugged

The freezing messed up the fill valve. This is the part that your hoses connect to on the back of the washer. Replace it and you will be fine.

Cold water constantly runs even when the knob is pushed in to turn washer off.

If it fills with water and starts the cycle and the water keeps running in then your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is sticking. It needs replacing. The cold side can fail independently of the hot side.

Whirlpool Duet GHW9100LW1 fills up with power off

You have a faulty fill valve

If you want to check which one, try turning off the cold supply only before you go to bed

If the washer has water in it next morning it is the hot valve that has gone faulty if it is dry then it is the cold one

They are easy to change and can be bought from a number of suppliers

Top load roper washer water will not cut off after filling machin

The water valve is the part where your water hoses connect.

Replace the water valve if the water is constantly running after the machine has been turned off.

If it only overfills during the fill cycle, check your water level switch and connecting plastic air pressure hose.

Hot water runs constantly - overfills

This is often, if not all the time, a faulty fill valve, the fill valve has mechanically stuck open and is not fully shutting off when not the washer is not in use. This normally will become worse and could flood over the top of the washer = big mess .... replace the fill valve. The fill valve is the part the hot and cold water hoses are attached to.
