Vtech;5.8 ghz'#cs5121-2: how do i silence the phone to turn off ringer and then turn it back on>

This phone doesn't give you a way to change the ringer volume. However page 9 of this manual describes how to change the ringer style.

Hi! Some phone can be muted using the silence mode->this way the phone will ring but it vibrates instead of a loud preset song. So just press and hold this button "#" and the phone will turn the silent mode on/off.

while the station is ringing ,mute the ringer for this call only.or during a call mute the microphone. hope this helped.

Hi,

To cutoff ringer volume in Vtech cordless phones,you have to turn off the base ringer.
Handset:
program button->up/down" key to cycle until you see the Ringer selection->up/down" key(s) to cycle until the OFF selection
Base Ringer:
Menu->press menu until you hear "Base Ringer, to change base ringer press change"->PLAY/STOP button to save
