I have the same problem, my television is faded black on the left side with lines on the left top side. I have had the 46 inch unit for 1 year and 7 months. I am planning to write a demand letter to Sanyo and then taking them to small claims court woth evidence that this is a common problem with their units that they know about and is not trying to remedy. Also the Attorney general in Texas should have an interest in them (Walmart and Sanyo) selling these defective proucts in the state.
Same for me with this POS TV,,Repair shop said it was not cost effective to fix it..Bought at Walmart about 2 years ago..Must be a common problem....
wow i have the same problem and so does everybody else we should work together to bring walmart and those greedy a-holes at sanyo down.
Wow have same problem same tv and I also bought from walmart what to do
Wow I bought this Sanyo 42" TV at walmart and i'm having the same problem. we work hard for our money and we ended up with inferior things. Greedy bastards

I have this same problem. It used to fix itself after the TV warmed up and I would just leave the tv on all day. Now, the lines and darkness cover the top fourth of my screen (worse on the left side) all the time. This problem occurred a month after my warranty expired. Did you ever get any answers?
We have the same issues, its also the 46" from Sanyo, our far right side and sometimes the entire right half black out or the picture becomes distorted on the far right, Unfortunalty for most of us, the flex cable from the LCD display control board to the LCD display itself, (the screen you look at) is bad, its un-fixable without replacing the entire LCD screen, which sells for more then we paid for the TV. Our household is fortunate to have a professional circuit specialist living here, we tried a lot of different things and although we used very expensive tools and loops to get a closer look at the cables, we were unable to come up with any repair.

Having the same problem. 46 inch sanyo. When powered up in the morning only half of the screen comes on after it warms up it seems to be ok. What part do i need and where do i get it? And is there any class action suit that is taking place any one knows about?
Purchased a sanyo 46" Tv from Walmart. 16 months later left side went black. Service tech was to come repair it here. They diagnosed it as having a bad screen and took it with them on a tuesday and said they would contact us on friday. We called the service people on friday and they say they havent had time to diagnose it that it has worked fine there. Now it could be 2 more weeks they are saying. Also they claimed they would ask a tech the diagnoses so far and call us back. Well, we still are waiting on that call. I am sure this will stop me from buying anything labeled sanyo in the future and walmart at this point is about to be the next place not to purchase anything. I purchased the extra warranty through them but its no good if no one honors it.

I have this tv and fixed it's problem. The problem was that the top right and right side of the picture would go bad (lines in screen, black spot, right side of screen going back). Usually it would be ok after "touching" the top right corner of the tv but it go to the point I was doing this constantly. I watched a youtube video about placing rubber strips over and under the ribbon cables to the lcd screen at the top of the tv. I proceeded to follow the you tube video but discovered that my problem was the lcd coming de-laminated at the top right of the LCD. Using 1/8" self-adhesive foam tape I placed 2, 8 inch strips of this foam tape in each corner of the metal frame over the lcd glass. This fixed my problem completely.

we have a 46" sanyo that has been going out on the left side for about 6 months now. I am so fed up with the constant banging on the tv to fix it i started doing online research to see what i could find. We sure do hope the rubber solution works, hopefully i can get my boyfriend to jump on this project really soon before i put a hole through the tv! lol thanks for the you tube link and i sure do hope it works on our tv! how crappy Sanyo can't take fault for what is so so there's in the first place!

I have the same problem with the Sanyo TV DP46848, the screen going to black shadows. Mine lasted just over 3 years. Sanyo refused to accept the fact that it is a manufacturing defect. They just kept stating that I am sorry but I can't help you. On July 28, 2012 I filed a complaint with the NYS Attorney Generals Office. I paid $998 at Walmart for this TV. I say them yesterday in Walmart for $448. How can they continue to flood the market with this junk. Do Not Buy Sanyo.
I have the 46 inch Sanyo as well with the lines and sometimes darkness showing up in the corner on the right side. my tv is hang on the wall and if I shake or pull out on it it fixes the problem but not always and not parmentally going to try the you tube solution will let y'all know if it works

Well it went on the blink again. I tried the D-grease and that don't work. Anyone have any ideas?
Wow, guess I won't buy this TV
I have a DP48648 SANYO. It also gets the dark stripe on screen and some time half would go black. What I found was the connection from the power supply board to the LCD Master board was bad. I could wiggle it and everything worked again. Problem is after awhile the pin connector at the Master board shorted and after a little arching the pins on the master board burned. I have the new Master board, but now cant find the two wire connector for it. Looks like SANY does not use Gold in these areas and now use silver. After awhile the Silver tarnishes and your problems start. Cleaning works, but does not last.
My tv is doing the same as all the rest. if the problem is the connection from the power supply, I wonder if applying a dielectric grease to the pins would cure it. I've used it on my spark plugs for my airboat to keep the plug wires from corroding. I'll test it on my TV if the connection is the problem and report back.

We also bought the 46 inch sanyo from Walmart and the extra waren for it which gave it three yrs total and for the past couple of months cause we cant afford to fix this the entire left side of the screen will start to flicker and then go completely black on only one half we have no idea what to do about it we asked about sending it out but i feel as though sanyo or walmart should be held responsable for this considering there happens to be a slew of customers from what it seems that are experiencing the same issue it is apparently a flaw in the make of the product please feel free to email me if there becomes a solution to this problem @ [email protected] my husband is more than mad that this has happened and seems to be a common issue with others this shouldnt be happening to a tv that is only 3 yrs old GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
I have the Sanyo 46 in only 2 yrs old and screen just went totally black!! Its not even used during the day, only during the eveningI too think Sanyo and Walmart should be held responsible and replace or at least fix the problem
I have the same problem, i got a 46 inch Sanyo LCD tv and just as the warranty ran out these things started happening, Where the right side of the screen is dark and lines of color through it.. and there are black horizontal lines that sometimes just stay there or take up the whole screen. we need to complain to Sanyo and demand a recall because if this is happening to every tv then they should stop selling the piece.
I'm having the exact same problem with my Sanyo 46" LCD television. We've been ripped off!
I've got the same problem with this Sanyo TV purchased at Walmart a little over 2 years ago. The center of the screen developed a shawdow running down the left side then the right side is all blacked out like a ghost. After you turn it on and it runs for a couple hours it clears up but the center streaks stay there. I paid 1347.00 for this TV and now it's not worth two cents. What is the problem with my TV and is there a way to have it fixed my warranty has run out.
OH my as I have read on, this is a bad TV. Does anyone know if it has been recalled or how to find out that information. We have all been snookered for sure. We need to start a petition on this, does anyone know how.
