the BF888 is NOT a vhf radio, it is a UHF radio so it will NOT program VHF frequencies

All television stations went to digital, these are analog devices. It renders these cool portables useless.

Not if it does not have digital tuner

This is a UHF radio.
SDC is 450-520 MHz.
RDC is 403-470 MHz.

As you can see the two bandsplits overlap in the common 450-470 MHz range. If your frequency is between these numbers either of the HT1000 models will work for you.

FYI: VHF has the letters KDC usually.

I just tried mine and i have no signal on the vhf setting but i do get channels on the uhf
