Hi there! A pot on my Wolf stove boiled over this morning and now the electronic ignitors won't stop clicking. I had to turn the electricity off to the stove. I can still light the stove manually, as per the instruction manual, but I'd like to fix the clicking. Any ideas?

Most cases it will be back to normal until the electrode dry (over night), if not, then you may have a bad electrode.

BOILING WATER SPILLED OVER FROM POT INTO COOKTOP AND NOW IGNITOR KEEPS CLICKING

Hi, water is a great conductor of electricity. It is likely nothing to be concerned about in this case though, if you light the burners and allow the water to burn off/evaporate from the ignitors it should be fine. It happens all the time with gas ranges and cooktops. Once the ignitors are dry they will stop conducting/sparking unwanted. Hope that helps calm your concern. Thanks for coming to "fixya" for your solution. Please take a second after reading this to rate the info provided to you. Good luck. Macmarkus :)

Gas stove with electric ignition (oven stopped working)

the electric ignition is bad and needs replaced in oven. I had the same problem a few months ago and it was the ignitor for the oven. if replacing it yourself, be very careful with ignitor, it is very fragil. do not touch ignitor itself, hold on to it by the base of it. they are not that hard to change.

Wolf range cooktop

I just installed a Wolf gas cooktop and had the same problem in that all 4 burners would light just fine but the electronic igniters would not stop clicking on all four. What I found was that the electrical outlet that my gas cooktop was plugged into had the polarity reversed. I tested the outlet with a polarity testing module (you can get one at Home Depot and it checks polarity, grounding, GFI and is handy to have around, small and inexpensive). I plugged it in and the lights told me that the polarity was reversed. I reversed the wires in the outlet (exchanged the white and black wires) put the cover back on, plugged in the cook top and now it works like a champ! no more constant clicking. By the way, we had a cooktop before this one with electronic ignition and never had a problem, apparently it didn't care about the polarity.
