Re: havin troubles removing the rear hub on a F150
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer Maintenance/Service and Repair.
- CAUTION: Do not allow the caliper and anchor plate assembly to hang from the brake hose or damage to the hose can occur. Remove the bolts and position the caliper and anchor plate assembly aside.
- Support the caliper and anchor plate assembly using mechanic's wire.
- To install, tighten to 200 Nm (148 ft. lbs.) .
- Remove the brake disc.
- Remove and discard the wheel hub nut.
- To install, tighten to 400 Nm (296 ft. lbs.) .
- Remove the wheel bearing and wheel hub assembly.
- If necessary, remove the wheel bearing from the wheel hub.
- CAUTION: Do not apply lubricant to the threaded end of the wheel spindle. NOTE: Clean the wheel spindle (including the threaded end) of any dirt or grease using the specified solvent before installing the brake disc. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- To ease installation, lubricate the inner race of the bearing assembly using the specified lubricant.
This truck doesn't have a rear hub. It uses a an axle shaft inside the differential housing. It does have an axle bearing. Is this what you are trying to repair?
