HP Pavilion ze5300 laptop/ Charge light on, when I try to power up it goes out and I have to reset to get light back. No boot

Thanks for your response. No, it is the same when trying to boot with the adapter, with or without the battery in. It's like it shorts out when hitting the power button and needs reset to get the charge light back. I've recently noticed that the light also goes out when hitting the shortcut buttons to e-mail, internet etc., next to the power button too (and needs reset to get the light back) like that whole strip of buttons is shorting it out.

Same problem here! The charge light comes on when powered off, then runs on battery power until drained (not charging while running). The machine will not boot with AC only. The output from the AC charger is fine. The connection to the laptop is also fine, as it charges while turned off. When I boot it up, the AC power indicator light turns off.

The adapter socket has come loose from the motherboard - the solder joints have broken - you must remove the board, resolder the connections and then reinstall the board. Write down where you pull screws from - or take a good picture. There are plenty of them there screws....

I got a hp pavilion dv 2500 i assumed had a bad charger port because the light would not turn on when it was plugged in. so i went ahead and bougt a new component for it, but still no charge. any othe

How old is the battery. It may not be holding a charge because it is so old. Try holding down F12 during boot up to see if it offers you a battery recalibration option. If it does, follow the on screen instructions to the letter. Best of luck

Hello i have an hp Pavilion dv9000 laptop. I use

yes, i would definately try removing the memory modules and blow some forced air into the connectors as well as using alcohol on a q-tip to clean the module contacts before inserting them back into the board. If it still does not properly boot, try removing one module making sure the remaining module is seated into the #1 slot, and reboot. If it does not boot, remove and replace with the other one, leaving that one out, reboot. If, at that time, it boots, you now know which module, if any, are bad.

Pavilion dv6000 when power button is pressed,

Have you tried to boot the laptop with the power cable connected? Is the charging indicator on when you connect it to the adapter? If the charging indicator does not light up, check if your adapter output and try booting it with the power cable connected.

HP Pavilion ZE5300 Video is very dim

Hello,

I have seen this happen before. If the inverter you installed is not from the exact model HP then the pinouts on the signal cable going to the motherboard are not correct. There are several inverters that use the same connector but are not interchangable. I would get another inverter that is for that model and I bit it will fix your machine.

Hi,
Try soft resetting the laptop .
1. Disconnect the Ac adapter
2. Remove the laptop battery
3. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds
4. Reconnect the power adapter only and power on .
5. If the laptop starts fine , reinsert the battery back
