Pico means small and these look like little small resistors, but don't have stripes like resistors, just part numbers. They should measure as a dead short and be in the immediate vicinity of the STK's

Make life easy on your self call a tech. if you don't know the basics of electronics such as ID ing a resistor or pico fuse or simple solder/ desoldering you shouldn't attemp this repair!!
but if you are so inclined to repair this your self replace the whole convergance board part# BP9500142P it will be much easyer.

I replaced my convergence chips and I still have a convergence problem. Its not as bad but I still cant line up the blue convergence cross exactly

Sounds like your over half way there lol..
You now need to check the resistors positioned near the convergence ic's. They are your likely problem and go bad often when the ic's fail.

They are normally about 2watt and the values will vary but normally are like .10 ohms to 1 ohm.
I cant find a schematic to give you the exact values and locations but if these resistors measure off value at all you need to replace them with the exact value of the originals.

Heres a link to resistor color code guides just in case the value numbers are not printed on the resistors

Good Luck!!!

I just replaced the 2 Convergence IC's now i have a bad pitcure

Yes, did you check the group of identical 3.9 ohm blue resistors in front of the chips? If even one is open or discolored in the middle convergence will not adjust in some area.

The colors are distorted and there is triple images

Hi,
triple images show failure of convergence out ICs in TV, these are two big black ICs mounted with aluminum heat sink on D board, replace these ICs with same number STK392-560 and problem in your Sony KP-46WT510 will be solved.
Required ICs are available in Part Store.
Let me know any further question, if any.
Thanks.

Sony kp 51ws510 convergence problem

Your TV most likely has one or more possible problems.

Problem #1: Convergence Chip Failure ( common problem )

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem
  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick note and they will put one together for you. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.

Problem #2 CRT Fluid is Cloudy

Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

Picture of a set that needs the fluid changed.

What you will need to do is replace the coolant and clean the crt. You can get a repair kit from www.TvRepairKits.com that includes replacement coolant, photos. instructions, etc.

You didnt replace the STK's? You must replace the convergance IC's or you will continue to have this problem.

Convergence

there are a series of 4.7 ohm 1/2 watt resistors all in a row under the fins of the ICs. Check them they have to have one side unsolderd to check them. There are also 6 yellow pico fuses in that line of resistors that need to be checked as well.
