I would help to know the error message, but here is what I can tell you.

Having a "Lens error " message display on the camera's LCD display indicates a problem with the camera lens mechanism. This situation generally requires that the camera be sent to a Nikon Service Department for repair. Before doing this however, be sure to check these situations below:

  1. One possible reason for this error is if the camera is switched on and the lens unit is prevented from extending. The camera will struggle for a second to extend the lens, then report the problem. Inspect the lens for any obvious obstruction, then turn the camera off, then on again. Usually, simply switching the camera Off then On again is enough to correct this problem.
  2. Remove and recharge and/or replace the battery. If the error does not clear up right away, leave the battery out of the camera overnight, and try again the next day.

Regarding a 3rd party lens it always have some problem. Manually pictures can be taken , if completely not supported. Check the video and find similarities. Like keep F- 22 IN LENS , ( or the highest FNumber ) .. turn on manual controls.. then shoot.. check if this helps and inform

My DVD player wont play it keeps saying no valid disk

It may be that the lens is dirty so it can't read. Try inserting a CD or DVD cleaning disk (like a normal disk but has a little brush attached)
If you are trying to use home recorded disks check that they are in a suitable format - some players require only R- format whilst others will only R+

Hello, my Pioneer cd/dvdrw K17 B does keeps not working. I insert a disk. It sounds like it is going to load, but then it give me a message where it says "insert disc"

Probably its the lens problem, clean the lens or you need to higher the intensity of the laser by slightly rotating a preset that is attached to the lens module below the lens, I have repaired almost 80% of the creative cd drives by this method

My canon eos rebel xti keeps showing error code 99

To isolate the cause of the issue, we suggest that you do the
following:

1. Turn off the camera.
2. Remove the lens, battery, and CF card.
3. Allow the camera to sit without power for approximately 20 minutes.
4. Insert a fully charged battery, and turn on the camera.

Does the "ERR 99" message appear? If it does, then the camera should
be serviced. If it does not, then please proceed to the next set of
steps:

1. Turn off the camera.
2. Insert the CF card.
3. Turn on the camera.
4. Format the CF card in the camera.

Does the "ERR 99" message appear? If so, then the CF card is the most
likely source of the issue. Try using a different card.

If the message does not appear, please complete the following steps:

1. Turn off the camera.
2. Clean the lens contacts by gently rubbing them with a pencil eraser
or soft cloth. Be careful that you do not let any debris fall into the
camera body.
3. Reattach your lens.
4. Turn on the camera.

If the "ERR 99" message only appears when one particular lens is
attached, then that lens should be examined by a service technician.

If you see the "ERR 99" with a different Canon lens attached, then the
camera should be serviced.

Player keeps saying no disc why?

there r two reasons that the player says no disc on display. 1)the disc which you insert in your player is really not redable.check out that disc in any other player and confirm whether its working or showing the same fault in other player too. 2)the disc may be perfectly all right, but the lens in the player which reads the disc is either got dusty or the lens is turned faulty. for dussty lens you can clean it with tissue paper and check out .but for the faulty lens its necessary to replace the lens.thats a costly issue.

These are steps to Fix Err 99's, have a go and see if resolves your other problem too.

To isolate the cause of the issue, do the following: -
1. Turn off the camera.
2. Remove the lens, battery, and CF card.
3. Allow the camera to sit without power for approximately 20 minutes.
4. Insert only a fully charged battery, and turn on the camera.
5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture.

Does the “ERR 99′ message appear? If so, the camera may be faulty and requires a service. If it does not, then: -
1. Turn off the camera.
2. Insert the CF card.
3. Turn on the camera.
4. Format the CF card in the camera.
5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture.

1. Turn off the camera.
2. Clean the gold contacts on the lens by GENTLY rubbing them with a pencil eraser or soft cloth. Keeping the camera face pointing down, also clean the gold contacts on the camera, being careful that you do not let any debris fall into the camera body.

Philips cdr 606 Recorder. I keep geting a message saying Reading and the Insert disk, after I have inserted a disk.. Tried different disks, also a lens cleaner but keep getting the same message.. can...

The problem of reading, insert disk, is that the mechanism of the player ....the problem is not on the lens its in your player mechanism. I suggest you that, in the mechanism which the lens are moving if u see a roller that is the problem and its already in dirt and dust..u better clean that by using a lighter fluid and then take the old grease change it with new one with good quality..after that it will be okay.

PHILIPS CDR 606 RECORDER. I was useing the above machine till yesterday without any problem at all. Today i keep getting message "insert CD" after i have put a cd in.. I have tried differnt...

Either the optics have failed or the lens is dirty. Try opening up the unit and cleaning the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. Basically the unit can not read the disk and is requesting that you insert one. If the cleaning fails to resolve the problem, you will need to have the optics replaced.

'lens not attached'

We had the same problem. After inspecting the contacts I saw that the one metal ball (contact) that was separate from the other contact grouped on the mounting collar was stuck down. By pressing the contact a couple of times with a blunt object it freed up the contact so that when re-attached the lens it worked as expected.
