I have never seen one of these mixers myself but from your description it sounds like the gears are out of timing. Plugs covering screws often get damaged on removal, they are pretty but not really a necessary part. If you cannot get something sharp down the side to flick it out you will need to skewer a hole in the middle to get a bit more leverage on it. When you have changed the gear timing check that the beaters miss each other before you put the screws back in.
The KSM5 and the KSM150 are different mixers. They are both 5 quart mixers and use the same gearing and motor. However the bowl design is different. The KSM5 is a 5 quart bowl lift, which means the bowl locks into the arms of the mixer and raises towards the head of the mixer, where the ksm150 mixer is a artisan mixer, which is also a 5quart mixer, but the head of the mixer tilts back and the bowl twists into the base ring to lock into place. It sounds like it got overloaded when you last mixed dough. It will only come off the way it went on. If it has been bent on, it may need a bit of gentle encouragement.
Do not store or transport the mixer on its side ever. Always upright. The grease in the gearbox should even out eventually. Try sitting on it when it wobbles. At least yours works.
