The tv/timer button is flashing and tv will not turn on . Everytime you turn on the tv the tv/timer button wil flash but not come on. This is a Sony 36 inch wega triniton tv hd

There are several faults that can cause this. Shorted diodes in the high voltage, a bad flyback transformer, a shorted CRT driver IC. None of them are very easy to fix.
Please update this with the blink count. That will indicate the circuit in which a problem was found. Once I have that information I should be able to give you the probable cause and remedy.
When the timer light stoped flashing the remote control would not turn on the TV. The next time the light quit flashing I held the power button in on the TV for about 5 seconds and it came on and has had no problems since then with the remote or the local TV power button.
