I found that all I had was a bad connection of my plug from my monitor into the back of my machine.. jiggled the connection, tightened and all was fixed.

I did the same thing. Push all the plugs in securely. Shadows gone!!!!

This ay help....SIMPLE ! The "shadowing" you talk about is due to cables in back of your computer, touching or too close together. I had this happen to mine. I moved the cables apart, and no more shadows !! Sounds too easy, but it works. Takes a few seconds. Immediate results.

Tips for Troubleshooting Power Problems with Laptops

If you experience shadow/double images of text, icons, etc. on your computer's display, the first thing to check in this case is the connection between your graphics adapter socket & your display monitor. You have to make sure that this connection is not loose & that the cable connecting your computer to the display monitor is not damaged or is not running very close to a source of electromagnetic interference.

How to change orientation of monitor

I'm a little unclear of what you are asking.

1) Screen has turned on monitor?

Press the CTRL key, and ALT key down at the same time.
Now tap on the Left Side Arrow key, until the screen is oriented correctly again.

2) Screen on monitor has shifted left, right, top, or bottom?
Use the controls on the monitor to set it correctly again.

3) Using dual monitors?
Right-click on an empty space on your desktop screen.
Left-click on Properties at the bottom of the list.
Left-click on Settings.

The monitor 1 icon is supposed to be your Primary monitor.
The monitor 2 icon is the Secondary monitor.

Ordinarily the Primary monitor is on the LEFT side, and the Secondary monitor is on the RIGHT side.
Just as shown in the Settings window.

If you wish to move a monitor to the other side, go to the monitor icon you wish to move.

Put your mouse cursor on the monitor icon you wish to move.
Left-click, and hold the left mouse button down.
Now drag the monitor icon you wish to move, to the other side.

Not doing it for you?
Then post in a Comment with more exacting information, as what it is that you wish to do.

Blurred icon graphics

This is usually caused by windows display properties is operating incorrectly. One of the options is to default everything under your display options using control panel. If it still is blurred then try using the optimized screen resolution and enable the cleartype in Windows. If after doing that.. it remain blurred, try to use the Cleartype Tuner by Microsoft at http://www.microsoft.com/typography/...ePowerToy.mspx

Hope this helps. Let me know.

Problem with monitor

Shadow after text is usually caused by an impedence or termination issue. If you have a multimeter, check the VGA connector pins 1 2 3 (R G B) vs GND should be 75 ohms. If not, cable is damaged or poor quality. Try a new VGA cable, should cost $5+
If the edge of the text is wavy, there is too much jitter in the signals coming from the graphics chips. No fix possible.
If the edges of the characters are lumpy, then the panel has a cheap A/D converter, try using it in DVI mode instead (white-white connectors instead of blue).

Text on screen trailing to the right

Check the VGA plug and lead between the monitor and computer.

Does it get worse or better while you move the lead around?
