This is not specific for the iPhone. It has everything to do with your provider. He decides when a call is put to a voicemail or when it is stopped. But most of the time you can change the time yourself, but please check your mobile phone provider how to do so.

If it is a motorola ringtone then you cannot get it on the samsung

You have to enter this code: **61*07973100123*11* enter the time you want it to ring (maximum is 25 seconds, so just put 25) followed by # Then press the green call button as if you're making a call. It should then send a message saying 'divert updated'.

just use ringtones of longer lenth...(try to use ringtone of 30 sec etc...)

The phone does not have this facillity.However,switching the answer machine "OFF" allows me to lengthen the ringtone to 16 rings as on the Users Guide.

your phone accepts downloaded audios for ringtons, if you want a long ringtone, you may set a whole song to be your ringtone, or perhaps a long ring ring sound.

or if you only want your regular tones to be longer, try to set the ringer to "ASCENDING"

Are your contacts off the SIM? You cannot assign a ringtone to a SIM contact that is different than your general ringtone. If it is a SIM contact save it to your phone then you should be able to assign a distinct ringtone.

Remove the voicemail or extend ring time
