Sounds like the protection circuit is the problem here which is a good thing because its stopping you from permantly damaging the unit first thing to check would be the impedance of your speakers and then check what your impedance selector is set to on the back assuming you have one be warned that you should never move this switch while the unit is on.My advice would be to unplug it first because that switch plays a direct role in the systems power supply..Hope this works for you

It's the protection circuit that's shutting the receiver off.
The receiver output are being shorted out.
Here is what you need to do.

1.UN hook everything and all speaker wires from receiver.
2.Make sure nothing is hook to the receiver.
3.Turn the volume all way down.
4.Plug in the power cord and turn the receiver on.
5.Put the receiver on FM making sure its on a radio station.
6.Slowly begin to turn the volume up while listing very close near the receiver.
If you here a click or see the display flash OVER LOAD while turning up the volume then your receiver is in need of service.

If you don't here a click, or the display doesn't change then the receiver is good to go,and you need to change speakers.

Do this and you will be happy!!!

Why don't I have sound on uniden pc78ltw?

the knob that turns the radio on and off is the volume potentiaometer.turn it 1/2 wayopen.the next knob is the squelch maqke sure it is all the to the left.the next knob is the mic gain and the RF gain.Set the mic gain at 1/2 and the RF gain all the to the right.the next knob is the delta tune, set it 1/2 way the next knob is the calibration knob leave it alone. Now above those knobs are little switches .the third switch from the left is for CB/PA make sure its on CB. check the WX switch and make sure it not on a weather station. and finally the last switch to the right is called a dynamic squelch switch.Make sure it is down. with all said your radio should be on and you should be able to hear sound. If not ,take an external speaker and hook it to the external speaker plug in the back of the radio. If you hear something then you internal speaker is junk.replace it .

Press the set button, than the volume knob and turn the tuning knob to set the hour, press volume knob again to set minutes and press a third time and then you are done.

My jbl jembe speakers turn off by themselves is there a way to stop this?

Turn up the volume at the source (computer or iPod) and turn down the speaker units slightly.

I am having problems with the volume knob. The

That is a dirty pot switch.. The volume adjusting pot gets dirty.. Two things to try..

1.) With the unit off - spinn the volume min to max many many times at a rapid pace.. This sometimes will displace the debris in the pot..

If that does not work --

2.) Get some "tuner cleaner" in a spray can.. At Radio Shack or a similar store.. Lay the radio on its back so the volume knob is facing up.. Pull the knob off carefully.. Use short controlled bursts of the spray.. A few sprays and spin the knob min to max several times and repeat..

Good luck..

Sound is Pulsating when music plays

Ahh, I have these speakers and its common when you have the volume knob turned all the way down, to fix it, turn the volume REALLY low in windows, so that way you have to turn the volume knob on the speaker control up to 50-100%. And you will have better sound..... No pulsing

Popping & hardly any volume

i had the first problem and you can probably fix it by turning the volume knob all the way up and down about 20 times. it worked for me. supposedly the potentiometers in the z-5300 get dirty or worn out, somehow this might fix it. for the second problem maybe try plugging it into the laptop and unplugging it again seeing if it goes back to normal?maybe its a problem with the amp?

MX5020 Noisy

Try to blow it out with compressed air. Then, with the speakers turned off, turn the volume knob to full volume and back as quickly as you can (without damaging the switch) three or four times. This should take about one second for three movements. Undertake this at your own risk. Turn them on and see if it has helped. Do not just keep doing this. if it doesn't help immediately stop. if it does help, repeat blowing out and repeat the knob turning, once.
