If you have lots of flashing error lights or electrical problems then it is likely to be electrical.

However, if like most... and your printer has just been left unused for some time? You probably have an ink clog and the standard cleaning is not enough to clear the clogged ink.

Provided it worked OK before a period of non-use? Then you just need to use a PRINT HEAD CLEANING KIT to unclog the tiny jets.
Magic Inkjet Flush usually works a treat on those!

Magic is ideal for unclogging the tiny jets on any Canon, Epson HP andremoving those horrible white lines which usually appear in prints whendried ink clogs several jets...

So if yours appears to be a clog? all you should need to do is to usethe Magic Inkjet Flush kit to soak the print head and you should beprinting again like new.

You can read more here:
How to Clean, Fix, Repair, Unclog, Dry, Clogged Print Heads on CANON, EPSON, HP, Lexmark, Dell, Olivetti etc…

Good Luck!

How to clean noxxles, heads, etc.

I'm not sure what you mean by lines, but I had poor print quality and even a "ker-chunk" noise in the middle of the print head travel. On these HP printers, there is a strip of plastic with very small stripes printed on it that runs through the back of the print head. This is a linear encoder that lets the printer know the position of the print head. This gets dirty and the optical "eye" can't see the transitions of the lines on the strip. Clean it with some iso-alcohol and water and you should be all set to go.
