My macbook air disk drive doesn't take any cds in

Thanks for asking your question with Fixya Support. I will be glad to assist you.

For simple but in-depth troubleshooting, I suggest this link for you to review in regards to working toward resolving the Macbook Air SuperDrive CD /DVD issues.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If the guide provided above does not resolve the problem, then the issue here is that your USB Superdrive (unless you are using a different non-Apple 3rd party CD/DVD drive) is experiencing a mechanical failure.

This Apple external USB CD/DVD SuperDrive is fairly straight-forward in its use.

Now if the issue you were having had something to do with only a DVD or CD constantly ejecting automatically after you placed such a disk in the drive, that would be different.

In this case however, if the guide above does not help and you are experiencing the SuperDrive working intermittently, my advice, is to take your Macbook Air with the external SuperDrive in to your local Apple retail store Genius bar or Apple Authorized service provider for a free diagnostics to determine the root cause of the SuperDrive failing intermittently.

Feel free to reply back if you have any questions regarding the information I have provided you.

Regards,

Cd player on a macbook

Contact Apple for tech help. I think cd needs to be cleaned, maybe it has dust.
Keyboard maybe damaged, so it's better to ask apple for help.

I can't get the mb397g/a working on my apple HELP Pz

Try this procedure with the Macbook Air SuperDrive
and then click the Apple link below to follow the remaining recommended steps with for troubleshooting your Macbook Air SuperDrive.

Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
• Make sure your SuperDrive is connected to your portable.

• Properly shut down your Macbook Air

• Once it is is shutdown, you will need to perform what is called a PRAM reset (Parameter RAM)

• Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously .

• Turn on the computer.
• Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.

• Now, hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the start up sound for the third time.

• Release the keys and allow the Macbook to start up.

This process is supported by Apple, but if it does not work, just let me know.

MacBook Air superdrive

Is this device supported by your operating system? It seems you are using an old drive with a new system and Apple is notorious for obsoleting hardware well before it is physically inoperable. This is why most serious users are on the Windows/PC platform instead of Apple.

Fixya - Mac Won't Start

Here are a few things that might help you
Try to start your computerfrom the system CD, if this fails, you may try to start it from theDisk Warrior CD, if this won't work also, I would check the PRAM.
