I have laptop HP g6000 and when i push the star button the light goes on then afer 2 seconds goes dead and then again in a cirlce.The screen remains black.

From Hp the blinking light indicates sleeping mode. Suggest you push the power button for 20 to 30 seconds. The light should go out. Repower on the computer. If it goes back to blinking mode then there is a hardware issue.
I have seen another Presario desktop with this problem, and it was dust in the front panel jamming the switch on. Pushing the switch turned the machine on, but because it stayed on, after 4-5 seconds the PC shut down again.
I had to remove the front panel and clean out all the dust, then lubricate the switch movement.

Your motherboard is dead. u need to replace your motherboard. if it was any hardware device problem it will stay on but will not show any display but the leds will stay longer than 10 seconds. i suggest you find a hp authorised service center and let them diagnose. i'm pretty sure your motherboard is dead.sorry to say man.good luck
