KNOW---IF THE ANSWER TOLD YOU something you did not know--rate the
solution----
ONLY 1 of 2 things can cause this problem----
First thing to do is
remove front speaker grill--it should pull out and is secured with plastic
pegs--behind it you will find an inspection plate---
Notice the one or
two pairs of wires coming from the front keyboard
of the set---remove the inspection plate and follow the wires to the
right--you can unplug both plugs(most have two and they are marked with
letters and different sizes so you cannot get them wrong)
The
idea here is to remove the front keyboard with its reset button etc
from the circuit---You will still be able to try to turn the set on
with the remote---
These sets have a Receiver that is called a DM board--(large metal box to the
left as you look from the back) and if the power goes out the green
light will blink for about 70 seconds and then go out---it is the
Receiver booting up. It is called the DM board.
If disconnecting the keyboard allows the
set to turn on--you have a bad reset switch and two choices---either
operate the set only with the remote or to remove the front screen and
get at the reset switch (it is tiny) and remove and/or replace it.
If
disconnecting the keyboard does not restore the set to operation---the
receiver is bad---there are 4 or more caps and some pico fuses that can
fail in that unit---Mitsubishi no longer sells or repairs these--if it
is bad and not the caps there is a company you can send the unit to and
have it repaired--if you need to know their name let me know---
You can
call them and get a quote for repairing the receiver.

There are capacitors that fail in the dm module and will have to be replaced to get the set to work again
if you have the tools soldering station and abilaity you can repair it your self if not you may want to enlist some local help with it
cost depending on area 325 to 385 for the repair
Hi my name Eng Sin . I have problem with my tv WS-55859 . one of capacitor i got a reading start 34k then moved up until no reading detected . Please respond back if this is something to bad to worry about or is it nothing?.

The capacitors on the dm board are probably bad. I called mitsubishi and they agreed to pay for the part even though my tv is four years old. MITSUBISHI cust # is 1-800-332-2119

Make sure your TV and your receiver are both on.
Use this tool to look up the 5-digit code for your TV. There could be more than one code for your brand of TV.
Slide the MODE switch on your remote control to the TV position.
Press and hold the MUTE and SELECT buttons at the same time until the green light at the top of your remote flashes twice, then release both buttons.
Using the number buttons, enter the 5 digit code for your brand of TV. The green light under the TV should flash twice.
Aim the remote at your TV and press the VOLUME UP button. If the volume doesn't increase, repeat Steps 3-5, trying a different 5-digit code for your TV. If your remote control fails to program using all available codes, try scanning for additional codes. If one of the codes worked, proceed to the next step.
Press and hold MUTE and SELECT buttons until the green light at the top of your remote control flashes twice.
Enter 9-6-0 using the keypad on the remote control. The green light should flash twice again.
Slide the MODE switch on your remote control to the DIRECTV position.
Follow these steps to scan for additional TV codes using your DIRECTV remote:
Slide the MODE switch on your remote control all the way to the right to the TV position.
Press and hold the MUTE and SELECT buttons at the same time until the green light at the top of your remote flashes twice, then release both buttons.
Using the number buttons, enter 9-9-1. The green light on your remote should flash twice.
Aim the remote at your TV and press CHAN/PAGE UP button. Tap the CHAN/PAGE UP button repeatedly until the TV powers off.
When the TV powers off, press and release the SELECT button.
Note: If the green light flashes three times before your TV responds, then all codes have been cycled through. Our remote controls are guaranteed to program to your DIRECTV receiver, but your TV may not be compatible with our remote control.
