GE Monogram m/n ZD1S15CSSJ S/N VG930101 ICE CUTTER IS NOT STAYING HOT ENOUGH TO CREATE CUBES. THE SHEET OF ICE BEGINS TO BE SLICED BY THE TOP LAYER, BUT THEN IT STOPS.THEN THE CYCLE BEGINS AGAIN, AND ANOTHER SHEET OF ICE IS DEPOSITED , THEN THE WATER WHEN IT IS CYCLED AGAIN, GETS DIVERTED TO THE ICE CUTTER AND OVER THE PARTIAL CUT ICE SHEET. NOT CREATING ICE.

Ge monogram zdic150 ice maker cutting grid does not get hot enough to make cubes

If the cutting grid is only getting warm this would indicate a loose wire, a dirty grid or a defective grid transformer. As much as these grids cost it would pay to search for the problem that is causing this. The transformer is near the control board=> WR62X10015 Transformer

Other source for a transformer=> WR62X10015 Transformer If you would like my help repairing the Ice Machine please let me know, Thanks Sea Breeze

Why can't I select cubed ice on my ge monogram fridge, all of the other buttons work fine.

the reason for this problem is a jam of ice inside the ice bin that will not let the knives that crush the cubes, and cant release to let cubes go by uncrushed, remove the ice bin,put the remaining cubes in a bucket,or toss, then check the ice auger in the bin and if theres a build-up of ice melt it with hot water, then thoroughly dry it,then replace this unit into the freezer, but do not use it until its cold again from melting the ice jam, then resume the ice making cycle

Does not make enough ice

Ice machines are rated in pounds per hour. They usually have an arm paddle switch that tells them when they are full or a weight switch that works the same way.

If possible, transfer the produced ice to another container when the machine is full and allow the unit to keep making ice.

This assumes the machine is working properly and that the cubes are solid. (frozen and not watery).

GE Monogram Ice Maker makes ice, unit doesn't cool enough

This model Icemaker makes ice by flowing water across a freeze plate. It is located in the top of the unit behind the white cover directly below the ON/OFF/CLEAN switches. After freezing a sheet of ice it releases and slides to the cutting grid. It then drops into the ice bin and begins to melt and the whole process starts over again. The level of ice in the bin is controlled by the high level sensor on the right side of the ice bin. It is a whit tube with two wires coming out of the top. Without this sensor it can overrun the bin capacity. Bottom line this unit does not freeze ice, it only holds it like cooler does.

GE Monogram Ice Maker ZDI15 makes an ice sheet but does not drop or melt the sheet into cubes.

Below is a couple og links. One is for the user manual and the other is for parts should. Sounds to me the cutting grid is not getting hot and cutting the ice into cubes. PDF below, click link

http://imgs.ebuild.com/xCat/ebuildWebB/15?ObjectID=1105&Variant=Original

For parts or free answers go to this link and enter your model number into the search feature. Model ZD115C That will take you to a page with pictures and part numbers. The home page you may call or email for answeres. I did see a control board and for some reason the cutter is not heating this will cause the problem. Thanks, Sea Breeze

My GE Monogram Ice Maker keeping turning its self off and the cleaning light starts flashing. We have cleaned the unit using the nickle safe product. Anyone else have this problem?

the rate the light flashes is a code for trouble shooting the electronics on the unit ( such as bad coil sensor, bad bin sensor or shorted grid cutter) if you will look behind the front grille you should find a tech sheet that will tell you what the flasing means and tell you what components to replace. BTW the most common failure is the cutter grid and bin sensor. the sensor is the white rod on the right hand wall inside the unit. besure it is plugged in. Let me know if I can help you futher. thanks Peyton
