The little gas ports maybe blocked on the burners, try cleaning the ports, also on the burners there are 3 or 4 small pin holes for the gas to travel, a small paper clip will remove any debris trapped inside these holes once they are clean the burners should light

Oven will not heat past 100 degrees. Circuit breaker is not tripped. All other parts of the oven work fine.

Hello there:
It won't bake or even heat up correctly or If your oven won't bake, check these: Bake igniter Other causes Bake igniter Usually when an oven won't bake, it's because the bake igniter is weak or burned out. The igniter is a small, round or rectangular device, that's about 1 inch by 4 to 8 inches. It's near the burner itself. The burner is the tube-type device the gas flows through before it's ignited. It has many small holes on the sides to let the gas, when ignited, form a long, low flame. If the igniter is weak, if it glows red but doesn't get hot enough, or if it's burned out, the gas doesn't flow to the burner and the burner won't ignite. If this is the problem, you may need to replace either the igniter or the gas safety valve. Usually the igniter is to blame. Other causes Other reasons that your oven may not bake are: The clock settings are incorrect (if you have timed baking or a self-cleaning oven). The thermostat is defective. The safety valve that prevents accidental gas flow is defective. The selector switch is defective.

My gas oven is not working-just used this afternoon for bread and chicken-it was fine-broiler and burners work ok

This sounds like a weak igniter, it would have to be a gas oven and the symptoms usually are: takes longer than normal to ignite the burner, may or may not smell gas in the oven, does not maintain set temperature or burner does not come on fully, eventually won't heat at all. On gas ovens, a glo igniter is like a light bulb, the more you cook, the faster it wears out. Bottom line, needs to be replaced. Good luck.

The oven burner will not ignite.

Because the glowbar is glowing does not necessarily make it good.
Turn off the gas to the stove. Remove the oven racks. Remove the bottom oven pan. Remove the flame spreader. This gives you access to the glow bar and gas valve.
Put a clamp on amp meter around one wire of the glowbar. Turn the oven control on to BAKE.
If the glowbar reads 3 amps or less, replace the glowbar ignitor.
If the glowbar reads good, check the burner tube for a white ash buildup. It can be cleaned with a wire brush. Look closely near the glowbar section of the burner.
Check all the wire connections for the gas valve.
If the glowbar is good and the ash deposits are gone and the oven still will not ignite, the next step is to replace the gas safety valve.

My kenmore gas oven won't heat. I turn to dial to temp i want can smell gas building up in oven and can see a glow in bottom of oven but will not ignite. Sometimes if I turn on a cooking eye I can then...

When the bake igniter becomes weak or burns out, your oven would not bake. The bake igniter is usually mounted on the oven burner. It's about 1 inch by 4-8 inches (depending on the model), and comes in round or flat styles. If you don't see the igniter glow at all, it's probably burned out. Replace the igniter if found defective. Note: one of the exceptions could be that your oven is set to automatic mode instead of manual. If this is the case, set your oven to manual mode and check again.

If the bake igniter glows red and not bright yellow or white, it is probably because it is too weak. When this happens, the safety valve would not let the gas out into the oven burner. A weak igniter must be replaced.

A faulty igniter is probably the most common cause, however there are others:

-- defective thermostat
-- defective selector switch
-- defective gas safety valve
-- defective gas valve coils

KENMORE GAS STOVE OVEN LOWER BURNER WON'T WORK

Most likely a hot-surface ignitor has failed. If it doesn't consume enough current, the gas valve won't open. It's usually a fairly easy fix, once you gain access to the ignitor and have a new one to replace it with. Make sure you unplug the range...

when this happens it is usually because of a faulty flame/gas safety valve.

My GE Xl44 gas burners will not ignite

If there is no spark at all then the circut is not being completed. The main problem that I had was that there was no ignition even though there WAS a spark and gas. I cleaned out the small pin hole sized inlet on the gas valve with a needle. This allowed the gas to enter the feeder and distribute the gas towards the ignition spark properly.

Also it is very important that the range be level. If there is a pitch to the range the gas may be exiting the distribution cap improperly resulting in improper distribution!
