Hi,

I'll presume you have no "fault code" appear in the display, i.e. F30, F31 correct ? Is it both top and lower oven ? What happens when you select a bake cycle, anything ? Does it appear to be on, but no heat ?

Just need some clarification and details and I'll try to help.

  • Anonymous Oct 30, 2009

Is that the case with both the upper and lower ovens though ?

If so, do you hear the cooling fans come on ?

These are equipped with "sail" switches that can become crushed/bent or obstructed during installation/service or just dirty from their environment.

Let me know, (I know it may seem like redundant questioning, but it is necessary from afar to be thorough)

    Hello,

Well from that description I'd be looking at a possible bake relay on the board since there isn't even a fan coming on. Typically the fan comes on activates the sail switch, and lastly the bake element is energized. It would likely be worth while getting a appliance tech on site, preferably an authorized b/s/h (thermador) person as these can be difficult to diagnos if one isn't familiar with them. Sorry I couldn't be more help, it's one of the on-line limitations. :(

let me know if I can help in the future.

    Good Luck :)

My top oven won't reach temperature. Convection and broil work, bake doesn't. Over a year ago I did a self clean...hasn't worked since. I really need it to work especially with Thanksgiving next week.

It does sound like the element may be bad. The control will cycle the bake and broil elements to even the heat in the oven. if the element is out the oven won't heat well.

Frigidaire oven fefl68 broil element comes on on broil only will not come on on bake or clean

Hello - - If you are referring to the bake element, but the broil element works then you would need to just replace the bake element. If both your bake and broil element does not work, then there might be a problem with the wiring communication. However, if the oven does not bake and/or broil but the cook top works; contact a professional to diagnose the EOC (electronic oven control).

My oven wont heat up?

Hello there:
first chevck to see if the broil feature will work but if both the broil and bake feature does not work meaning it will not heat up if you have selected either the bake or broil follow these solutions that i have provided for you .
It won't bake or broil If neither the bake nor the broiler heating elements heat, but the range burners still work, the clock may be set for a timed or self-cleaning cycle. Check to be sure the clock buttons and knobs are set properly. If your clock has a knob that says "push for man(ual)", push the knob in and try the baking and broiling elements again. If it still does not operate properly, you probably have a defect in the thermostat, selector switch, or common wiring. If the oven does not have a separate bake/broil/etc. selector switch, the problem may be with the thermostat. But it's not easy to check the selector switch or thermostat for proper operation. If you suspect a problem in this area, call a qualified appliance repair technician.

Bake and Broil not working

After you hit the function you want...bake or broil...click the up arrow.  That should give you the default temp of 350 and the unit should light.  Now adjust to the temp you want.

Bake burner

It is almost always a weak bake igniter. These age and will no longer pull enough current through them to allow gas valve to open. If bake igniter comes on and doesn't light, replace it.
