Please help! Bought an Iphone on O2.. had an samsung tocco on vodaphone.. put sim from tocco into iphone to up load contacts.. and nothing happened except the whirring ''apple wheel'' thing, so put sim back in tocco and ALL CONTACTS GONE!!?? Anyone help?!!

Hi 1st u connect ur phone on ur computer by usb cable and start ur i tone software when it is start then cleck go arrow > and send ur contacts in ur computer.

hold down the Power and the menu button for 10 seconds, it will restart the hardware configuration, if this doesnt work then hook it up to your pc and open itunes and do a restore on it, take not that if your Iphone is locked then it will lock it again, and you will lose all data if you do a restore.

Are you using at&t. if not it was jailbroken and unlocked and that went away after you updated it.

The problem is, for whatever reason, the new iPhone firmware does not allow special characters to be imported onto the new phone.
So the only solution is to:
Get a different phone.
Put your SIM card into that phone.
Access your phone book from said phone.
Delete any contact using characters other that A-Z. This includes !@#$%^&*() And the like.
Once deleted just pop your SIM card back into your iPhone and import. It should now work.
