I deleted a file which was on Seagate but not on my computer. I want to recover the file. But I see no recycle bin or anything like this. Is it possible to recover the deleted file from my Seagate? The file is my wedding photos, which my wife spent hours and hours organizing. I deleted it, so she is not happy! Any help much much appreciated.
So long as the file has not been overwritten there are many utilties available free that will accomplish this. I have not made this mistake in awhile so i cannot tell you the best current program, but I have used this one before
http://ntfsundelete.com/ and it is quite nice. Keep in mind if you have continued to use the drive and the space that file occupied has since been overwritten you will not be able to recover it.

OK! It is absolutely possible to get
deleted files back from a Seagate drive as long as these deleted files are not
rewritten by anything new.
The deleted files are not immediately
erased off from the drive after the deleting process. It is only the space used
to save these files that has been marked as "available space" for the new data.
So, as long as they are not overwritten by anything new, you do have a big
chance to get them all back.
To recover your deleted files, you need a third party data recovery program
that could successfully get back your deleted files.
In this regard, I would recommend you to
use this drive data recovery freeware here:

Next times, you should always be carefully
about your deleted files and always make data backups in case of similar data recovery
problems.
