I have recently purchased a bionaire bap 1550 air purifier. Is it normal for the recirculated air only to come out of the left hand side of the front grill

Try to do a hard reset by unplugging the device from the power outlet and wait for sometime to reconnect.

the only other places that you could check would be like a hardware store. kmart, wal-mart. if you have those in your area. ace hardware. places that would normally carry that unit. the big ones mainly are lowes and menards.

there should be a small pin hole somewhere on the top of the unit. Stick a pin in there hold for about 3 seconds and it should reset.

there is only one other thing that i can think of that might work ifyou haven't done that yet. right above the timer button there is a small pin hole. that is your reset button. you need like a safety pin or something really small to go in that hole. hold it for about 3 seconds. take the pin out and the system should reset back to normal. sometimes when you clean the filters that happens. not every time but sometimes. Now if that doesn't work. i would call the manufacturer again so see if they have any other solutions or if they can send you one more. I do apologize for the inconvenience. I will keep looking for you to see if there is anything else that i can suggest but try that first.

Reset filter reminder:
Unplug power code.
Push and hold sleep button.
Plug power code while pushing sleep button.
LCD shows "P" than release the button.
Push sleep button and you can see 99% filter reminder.

if you have a manual it will be on page 2 of the manual under cleaning and maintance. it willhave the picture there. if you don't have the manual. the hepa's go in first and they should snap on and the the carbon lays on top and then you put the back on the unti back on.

the lights are the ionizer light, the filter indicator light which is the light that will come on when the filters need to be changed, ionizer control button, the speed control and the power light.

if you go onto the bionaire website and in the search bar type in your model number it will pull up a pic. click on the picture and right underneath it it will say your model number and then manual. if it's not there scroll down until you see a customer service box and the first one should say manual. clickon that and it will pull up in adobe reader

The carbon filter should have the air passing through it first, before the hepa filter. The carbon filter removes the large particles which would otherwise block the hepa filter very quickly. Contact these guys if you need more help; http://www.bionaire.com/contactUs.aspx Hope this helps :)
