I just bought a used Technics 1200 MK2--there is no sound coming out the right speaker. Checked the mixer and it's not the mixer...Seems like a problem with the RCA cable?
And it will be. I can almost steak my life on it. Easy to replace. Most djs had to already. Most off us went to Radio Shack and bought the 6 foot gold RCA's and cut them in half for both decks. Its not that hard to do. Any problems message me.

Hi Thomas, as you say, it's not the engine, nor the integrated engine
Most likely, the pitchel potentiometer that generates the problem
I would try to clean it, applying a small amount of contact cleaner and test if there are improvements
Keep in mind that it is the Pitch potentiometer that is changing the speed
Comment if the suggestion served

Have you tried cross-plugging the speaker cables (i.e. swapping left and right channels) to be absolutely sure it is the amp ? I have a speaker that needs a fair amount of volume to wake it up, but after that performs well.
who ever told you that is a ****, start n stop are tied into the power of the turntables motor etc. if you plug the turntable in turn it on n hit start. it should start. if not who ever sold it to you made a BS lie to get rid of them cause the motor was burnt out. start n stop have nothing to do with the mixer what so ever. so try just hooking up the turntable and turn the power on. see if anything lights up
then his the start button and see if the platter starts to move if not its your motor.
Try plugging it into a different power point. The problem is with the power supply fluctuating. You can eliminate that with a UPS, here is a link to wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uninterruptible_power_supply
If you've already replaced the RCA /Phono cables, then the only other item that would cause this kind of problem is your tonearm, and it will need to be replaced.
More than likely your RCA cables are going bad, and will need to be replaced. Not the hardest self-repair, but you will need to have some soldering skills. In addition, caution should be taken when taking apart your turntable.
