Toshiba Satellite A305D-S6848 HAS NO POWER. NO LIGHTS COME ON AND I PLUGGED THE POWER CORD INTO ANOTHER TOSHIBA AND IT WORKS. NOT A POWER CORD PROBLEM. NO FANS RUN OR ANYTHING WHEN I HIT THE POWER BUTTON. PLEASE HELP!

I have tried plugging just the power cord in without the battery and still nothing. Computer is on 14 months old. Does anyone know where I can find a disassembly manual online? Tried Toshiba site and was unsuccessful.

This is going to sound stupid, but I got this was the official solution I got from Toshiba customer service when mine did the same thing after a linux install.

1. Unplug the charger and remove the battery
2. Plug the charger back in
3. Hold the computer upside down and turn it on

this has worked for me every time it won't start like that

TRY TO REMOVE THE BATTERY AND JUST PLUG THE CHARGER ON IT AND ON POWER. SWITCH IT ON. IF IT TURNS ON THEN YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT YOU NEED A NEW BATTERY OR IF IT DOES NOT, TAKE IT TO A COMPUTER SPECIALIST TO CHECK ANY HARDWARES THAT ARE NOT FUNCTIONING.

Remove the battery, and unplug the A/C adapter and hold down the power button, for 40 seconds.Soon your laptop will reset,and run well.Now you will install all the accessories and start.

My Toshiba A305D-S6848 LCD Screen is crack-where can I get it replace for a reasonable price.

Try www.ebay.com they have lots of LCD screen for your laptop. I always find that ebay is cheaper than buying parts from the service center or local repair shop.

Unplug and take out the battery for a few.
Put battery back in, plug it back in and see if it will power back up.

Connect an external monitor to your laptop. Start your laptop and use Fn+F5 buttons (or those appropiate to your model) to send the video signal out to the external monitor. If you do not get any image on the external monitor it means that most probably the mainboard is damaged (video card or even more). Expensive to fix or replace. Have it checked by a professional.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A305D-S6848 For a

I. Reinstall the driver:
Right click on My Computer (XP)/Computer (Vista) icon on the Desktop, click on Properties, the on Devices, then in the devices list look for your camera (you might have to open the branches to see it). You may find it under a branch named ‘Image Processing Devices’ or something similar (I don’t know the exact wording, because my system is not English).
Select your camera entry and then double click on it. Under the Driver tab, select Update driver and choose Reinstall Driver and then the second option ‘Look for Device Software in the Computer”.

II. If that doesn't solve your problem, download and install the most update driver from TOSHIBA support pages:

Start here: http://downloads.sourceforge.net/sevenzip/7z465.exe
Click on 'Download'
Select your product Category (Laptops), Family (Satellite) and Model (A305D-S6848) and press GO
Refine your search by selecting your computer system OS and by selecting 'Multimedia' in the Category list box.
Download the camera utility.
Install it
