I have a Zenith TV that I can not get to recognize a Magnovox DVD/VCR player. I know the dvd player works on other tvs. The cables are new. Both remotes are working, the vcr and dvd respond to the remotes. I only get TV chanels, no blank picture for auxillary. Thanks for your help.

Yes, You need to be on AUX ,you can get to that setting by pressing channel 01 then press the channels down button instead of going to channel zero it will start to cycle through your AUX's inputs on the back of the tv.Also, another way to do this is on the original remote there will be a SOURCE button or INPUT button that can also cycle your TV through the aux inputs.REMEMBER.Make sure your DVD player is turned on and hooked up or else the AUX screen will be black.Rate me when you fix it!GOOD LUCK

I have the exact same issue, DVD don't play. The VCR works & the cds will play on DVD side, but it will not play DVD. Warranty is expired and we barely used it.

Solution: Unplug the Zenith TV for approximately 5 seconds. Remove batteries in the Zenith remote. With the batteries removed press the TV button on factory remote and then the power button 5 times and hold the power button on the fifth time for approximately 10 seconds (I suspect this just clears the internal memory of the remote). Put the batteries back in the remote. Plug the TV back in and the remote should work again. My remote did work again successfully.
