Any heat errors on the Dell1815 is usually a fuser error, replacing the fuser should clear this right up, part # UG297.
Here is a video that shows you how. Hope it helps, good luck!

SOURCE: Open Heat Error For Dell MPF 1815dn

This sounds like a problem with the fuser unit. I would turn the machine off for about ten minutes, let it cool off and then turn back on. See if that works. If this does not work, you would need a new fuser unit.

I have a Dell 1815dn all-in-one laser printer. I have a "open door front door' error message rendering my machine inoperable. Any suggestions on how to clear this?

Hey, make sure the front door is shut, if it is, you most likely need to replace the High Voltage Power Supply (Part# WH773). Iteminc.com has this part and can ship same day. The sensor which reads if the door is open can go bad and it is part of the HVPS.

Open Heat Error\Call Service

Your Dell 1815DN is made by Samsung. It is a model ML3051ND. Maybe you can find a Samsung dealer in OKC. I would love to help but I am in Wellington, Ks. and the trip charge would be expensive.
Your machine needs a fusing unit. Kind of a pricy part at around $185 so parts and labor locally will cost you around $250
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

Dell 1815dn overheats

I'd just call Dell tech support. If you complain about a heat problem, it's part of their policies to simply replace the unit for safety reasons. :)
