SOURCE: If you zoom to less than 12x

The macro setting on the fz series allows you to get within a couple of centimeters of the subject and obtain focus. That is pretty close. That is too close. The camera will throw a shadow. You need some room. Most high zoom cameras (notably Olympus) have macro capabilty throughout the zoom which not only increases the magnification but also allows you (requires you) to put some distance between the lens and the subject. The panasonic fz series is different. They do not have macroability at zooms greater than 2x-3x. Beyond that there is no increase in magnification. Why? I dont know. Maybe this feature was designed on a Monday. Fortunately this can all be rectified with the use of a closeup lens. Now the fz series will react like most other high zoom cameras and do it well. The Olympus b-macro is such a lens. There are many others

SOURCE: Digital zoom doesn't work

Wet has affected the circuitry and could be progressive-[in which case there will be no repair option] best let the camera dry out in a warm place. Take batteries out and let it dry. You could help it along by putting the camera in a snap shut poly-bag with some rice or salt in a cloth/tissue tie to absorb any moisture. As regard the Digital zoom- strict speaking it has no value -it is simply magnifying the centre of the recorded image. rely on the optical zoom and print up bigger section for better clarity.

SOURCE: yes , I would like to know why my photo's are

Two possibilities related to the amount of light reaching your camera sensor.

The sensitivity ISO is set too low, perhaps 200... set it higher, like 800 or 1600 ISO
[Menu]
[Sensitivity]

Your "resolution" may be set too low, maybe 3 Megapixels. Set the resolution to at least 6 megapixels.

The Z612 works with MMC and SD cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and won't work. You need to stay with SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Just brought the card camera cant read the card needs to be formatted how do you format

To format a card, press the MENU button, use cursor-up/down to select the wrench icon and press the OK button, use cursor-up/down to select "Format" and press OK.
Be aware that the Z612 only works with cards up to 2GB in size. If you have a larger card, you won't be able to format it in the camera.

When i install team micro sdhc 4gb memory card in kodak easyshare z612 it says format .i select format but it keeps asking to format or cancell

First check make sure the SDHC card is unlocked I'll provide a diagram for that also I just checked your camera's memory capacity and it's only good for a 1 gig SD card which if using an SDHC memory card might go to 1.5 stretch to 2gig maybe but not a 4gig. My first impression is you got to much memory card for the camera. You might be able to go to the Kodak site and download updated firmware to allow the camera to function with the larger card but that's a maybe as well.
Here are the diagrams

I asked for assistance because my z612 camera says memory full even though I purchased a new memory stick. The response said to go to menu and click the "format" display and follow instructions....

Press the Menu button, use up/down to highlight the setup tab (the wrench icon), press OK. Use up/down to highlight "Format" and press OK.

How big is your new memory card? If it's larger than 2Gb then it won't work in the Z612 no matter how many times you try to format it.

I get "card error" with

Hi, The camera is rated to take cards up to 256mb so that rules out your 1GB card. Try confirming the 128meg card works in a different camera.

I purchased a PNY 4GB SDHC memory card to use with my Kodak EasyShare Z612. The camera indicates formatting required. How do I format or are they compatible?

You simply insert the memory into the camera, switch it on, go to the menu and then scroll through to Format and then accept. This will then take a few minutes and format the memory for use in the camera. Make sure that the batteries are fully charged before doing this.
