42 Fujitsu PDS4221W-H, no power

42" Fujitsu Plasma TV, Model No: PDS4221W-H
My company has this TV, but it doesn't power up. No LED lights or anything. My gut tells me it's a power supply, but I haven't opened it up yet.

Is there known issues with this model? Is there free service manuals available for it? If I need parts, where can I get them.

Thanks.

A user manual is available from this link:-

Check for a hidden power switch under the lower left or right under corner of the screen, ensure it is ON (- not sure if this switch is fitted to your model, but it does exist on other Fujitsu models).
Fujitsu no longer support or manufacture plasma screen TVs - therefore no parts are available from them. [Fujitsu only serviced to board replacement level - very expensive].
The Fujitsu models (generally, after 4 or more years use) suffer from cracked solder joints on circuit boards (due thermal cycling stress).

John you Legend. You just save me a trip to the repair shop with my tele, and probably a wad of cash!
We didnt even know we had this hidden power switch and had turned our tv off when moving it! We thought it was a circuit or power problem. The troubleshooting section of the manul didnt even list this solution.
THANKYOU DUDE!! Keep on posting

Hi,

It sounds as though you have a fault on the Power supply, the fan doesn't not normally fail on this model. If you'd like your screen repaired, please call 0208 731 3432

Flashing red light no screen fujitsu plasma

This is a common complaint with Fujitsu plasma displays with a few years age. It is most likely caused by the Main Power pcb.

See Fujitsu Service Bulletin on this problem. -see link below

A competent service technician should be able to implement the service bulletin.

42FD9954 philips plasma TV flashing LED it wont come on

The problem is in the standby power supply. the standby power supply generates the 9 volts and the 5 volts requird by the tv. If you measure the 9 volts source, with only the red light on, the correct voltage is 9 volts. However if the 9 volt measures 6.5 to 7 volts it is too low and the startup relays cannot operate. My set is a model 42FR9954/17S. In this set if capicator, 2603, is heated the voltage climbs to 9 volts and the relays work. If cold air is applied to the capicator the relays fail to operate. Replace capacitor 2503 and the problen is fixed. This capicator is: 47 Ufd, rated @ 450 volts, and is 20%.
