Connecting Zune to Ipod hookup in new Sentra

I just bought a 2010 Nissan Sentra, and it had an ipod hookup thing in the glove compartment, with a cord that connects to an ipd, so you can control through the radio. Only problem is I have a SZune, not Ipod, so the cable doesn't fit in the zune port. How do I use the Zune without having to use the auxiliary jack option??

SOURCE: Zune 30 gig Brown Overheating

well? This sounds like you have the wrong cord. It is too short and so it gets power every now and then and then after doing this for a wile it gets over heated. The power going into the Zune is changing so fast that it is causing the plug to burn-up inside itself!
I wound try to call about a warranty and then if that doesn't help then get a new cord!!!

SOURCE: ZUNE 30GB Zune Music... Problem

There are two ways to format an Mp3 player - one on the computer itself, and one in Windows Media Player. Both methods will end up erasing all the songs on the player, but the player will be "good as new" after that. Sometimes reformatting in this manner will override the player's native formatting and cause problems - this can be reversed in most cases by updating the player's firmware. Firmware upgrades are available from most manufacturers' websites.

WARNING: The following procedures will erase all songs on the player.

Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes, format it to FAT or FAT32. - Connect player to computer, double-click my computer, right click on icon of mp3 player and select format. This only applies to Windows-based computers.
You can also format the player in Windows Media Player itself:
Connect your Mp3 player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "name of Mp3 player here 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.

SOURCE: How can I sync music onto my zune 120GB without using zune softwa

Easy:

Use Windows Media Player. It should see your Zune and you should be able to sync it that way. If not, then try hitting your "My Computer" button on your desktop or your shortcut menu. You should see your Zune on that window once your computer sees it. Then open your "My Music" folder in a separate window, drag and drop the music you want in your Zune, and you should be good to go!

Zune vs iPod Touch, Which one is better?

Zune or iPod Touch? Which is better? Are you confused of choosing iPod Touch or Zune? Here we list several features by comparing Zune vs iPod Touch. Zune and iPod Touch has their own advantages and disadvantages respectively. Read on to know more.
Zune vs iPod Touch on Price
The two players only match up head-to-head in the 32GB size, where Apple's iPod sells for $299 and the Zune HD sells for $290, and almost-negligible price difference for most folks debating between the two. Apple's top-shelf 64GB player sells for $399, but Microsoft offers no comparable Zune HD in that capacity. Although Apple has the cheapest entry-level model, we have to hand the price war victory to Microsoft, which has managed to skim just enough off the price to make non-Apple-devotees look twice before leaping.
Winner: Microsoft Zune.
Zune vs iPod Touch on Display
The generous 3.5-inch screen on Apple's iPod Touch has long made it the de facto player of choice for on-the-go video, but Microsoft set out to challenge that lead with the Zune HD. Not by offering a bigger screen, but a better one. Although the Zune HD screen measures a slightly smaller 3.3 inches diagonally, it's uses cutting edge OLED technology, which delivers brightness and contrast unlike anything you can find in a LCD.
Winner: Microsoft Zune.
Zune vs iPod Touch on Battery Life
No matter how small or how capable, a personal media player does no good if you're constantly running back to the wall to charge it, making battery life one of the most important specs that you'll never truly appreciate until you take a device into the field. In this department, Apple didn't have it half bad to begin with, boasting 30 hours of music playback and six hours of video playback for the iPod Touch. But Microsoft has one upped Apple here as well, claiming the Zune HD will deliver 33 hours of music and 8.5 hours of video.
Winner: Microsoft Zune.
Zune vs iPod Touch on App Support
As iPod Touch owners can attest, the diversity of offerings in Apple's App Store makes the device as much a portable computer as it is a personal media player. You can create and edit calendars on it, surf the Web, and even find nearby places to eat with Google Maps and its built-in GPS.
If the App Store is leafy oak tree, full of 75,000 apps and counting, Microsoft's app offering is a seedling starving for water. At launch, Microsoft offers only six apps, including a few games and some basic utilities like a weather app and calculator.
Winner: Apple iPod Touch.
From comparison Zune vs iPod Touch, Apple's iPod Touch remains the reigning champion of the touch screen. For someone with no interesting in piddling around with apps, looking solely for the ultimate personal media player, the Zune HD truly makes a better buy.
As iPod touch user, I think you would be interested in following topics:
ipod to mac
transfer music from ipod to ipod
How to transfer Songs from iPod to iTunes
You would probably encounter less problems just replacing your iPod's HD with a new one.

RapidRepair sells them for $110 for an 80g, and their instructions are pretty good.

It looks like they might actually be interchangable, but in my experience 1st Gen Zunes have a lot of problems, especially with the batteries and HD's.

Need a new one

There are lot's of choices in looking for MP3 players. Of course the obvious first choice is the Apple iPod, but which one? It depends on lots of things.

If you're looking for just a simple, play music nothing else MP3 player, those can be really cheap. However, if you want something more, then you will want to look at more advanced things.

For a really cheap, small MP3 player, click here. Be aware that this does not have very much size, only 2 GBs in fact, which will hold around 200 songs.

If you have more music, or you just want a better MP3 player, you'll definitely want to look at iPods or possibly Zunes.

iPod: Everyone's heard of it, not much explanation needed. Great quality, generally good durability, awesome UI, etc etc.

Zune: The lesser known big competitor, Zune's are Microsoft's iPod, basically. They boast pretty much the same features as an iPod, but can be generally cheaper. However, you will find much more satisfaction out of apps from an iPod Touch than a Zune.

If you have at least 1000 songs, you will of course want to look at MP3 players at least 8GBs in size.

I would personally recommend an iPod Touch or iPod Nano. The iPod Touch is amazing, and they have recently gotten a new addition to their line, the 4G. It has of course the awesome iOS, with millions of apps ready to be used, a 720p video camera, an additional frontal camera for video chatting, an extremely clear 'retina display', and multi-touch gestures, just to name some new features.

Ultimately it comes down to, as with almost anything, Price vs. Quality. If you're looking for a cheap thing that just plays your music when you want it to, a cheap MP3 like the one I listed would be good. If you want all the bells and whistles, go for an iPod Touch or iPod Nano. If you're falling somewhere in between, go for a Zune.

Ipod hookup

usualy means the ipod, or the software in the ipod is not compatable with the kenwood. easiest way to check, is to find someone with a new model ipod and plug it in, if it works, the problem is with your ipod, not the kenwood. If you go online and download the most recent software to your Ipod, this may fix it. If you don't know how to do this, take your Ipod to Best buy, they will download the newest software to your Ipod fairly cheap.

Connecting zun to car stereo

Short answer, nope. Completely different connections. You'll foul the Zune if you try it. Unless the iPod connection plugs into the headphone jack, but even then, I wouldn't.

How to download music to zune ipod

Can't. Not possible. Won't happen.
Besides, it's a Zune, not an iPod.
Y'all gotta download the massive Zune software and install it before you can do anything with your Zune. Heck, even Microsoft's own Media Player won't work with it. Go figure...
