Cover photos are 851 pixels wide and 315 pixels tall. If you upload an image that's smaller than these dimensions, it will be stretched to this larger size. The image you upload must be at least 399 pixels wide and 150 pixels tall. But if you have an image of high resolution, you must first edit it using Photoshop or any image processor.
The size is going to be based off of clarity per pixel, the higher the MP the more pixels in turn the larger (but more clear) the picture. The best way to keep the clarity would be to resize on your computer, if you have windows, open the picture(s) with PaintStart Menu -> Programs -> Accessories -> Paint Then after you've opened the picture, do the followingWindows XP -> click "Image" then "Stretch/Skew"Vista/Windows7 -> Click "Resize"Make sure you keep aspect ratio percentages locked or you'll come out looking like a circus image.
The camera won't take a picture with that aspect ratio, but if you load the pictures into your computer, you can crop or resize them in a photo editing program to any size or shape you want.
Hello
Most of the telivision transmissions are comes at an aspect ratio of 4:3. Wide aspect ratio is 16:9. If you try to see a picture with aspect ratio 4:3 to wide 16:9, it will look like stretched. it is not the fault of the tv. Most DVD recording have the aspect ratio of 16:9 [Wide]. This aspect ratio will be displayed correctly when your tv is also set to wide mode. If you select normal mode at this condition, the picture will be displayed elongated. Ok Your Tv has no probelm.
To view a video in LG KP500 in full screen, the video resolution shud be 400x240, which is the exact screen pixel of cookie. So, try converting into that size & see that in landscape mode...... Njoy......
You "should" take larger pictures with your camera and then after downloading them onto your computer, change the image size on the PC using your image editing software. There will be a function to allow you to "resize" the image. Resize it to the 500x500 you are allowed to upload. However, since an image is typically not square, make the longest side the 500 pixels and let the shorter side change as it will (keeping the "aspect ratio" so it remains proportional). IMPORTANT: Save the "edited" image as NEW file so you retain your original. I hope this is clear. If not, please post again and I'll try to give you more information...
In the digital world, you can't have a 4:3 aspect ratio DVD title (720x480) on a 720p (1280 x 720) / 1080p (1920x1080) display without some kind of centering or stretching to some extent. (square vs rectangle) Now, on a 16:9 aspect ratio title (wide screen format) you should have any scaling issues regardless of the pixel resolution. Despite what the sales person told you, trans-coding ("upconverting") lower resolution titles to a higher resolution does not increase the quality of the image. Any attempt to do so would be only to try to reduce block noise and any kind pixelation at higher resolutions. (blurring square pixel blocks)
In the analog world, the quality of the image is based on the encoder and signal depth. If your TV excepts HD analog, you might be able to have your cake and eat it too. That would force your display to convert an analog signal into a digital resolution, letting the TV hardware do all the trans-coding. Manufactures are completely phasing out analog signal receiving, but might have the RGB RCA connectors for backwards compatibility. Eventually, it will not be supported and you will be forced to buy higher resolution content.
