Sanyo Monitor Turning off & on

Hello,

We purchased our Sanyo monitor about 8 months ago. Today, it has been turning off by itself after being on for a few seconds. When we turn it back on, it goes off again in a few seconds and repeats itself. It's similiar to a screen saver coming on in a few seconds. I'm not sure what is causing this.

Please let me know if there is anything I may need to check OR is it defected?

Thank you,
Kathy

SOURCE: Acer AL1912 19" LCD Monitor goes black after power up.

The problem with this monitor is a leaking capacitor on the power supply board. It is the middle one at the top in a row of three. The value is 10V 1000uf. Common problem for these.
Remove 4 screws from back of display. The case can be popped apart with a small flat putty knife at different points along the two seams. Three latches on each side and two at top and bottom. Push and twist at the latch points. There is a metal cover over the two boards. Power supply board to left. Screws and plugs can be romved. Unsolder Capacitor and replace. Radio Shack probably has them. Maybe a couple bucks. Be sure the power has been off for a while. These also have problems with the button board and corrosion at ribbon cable.

SOURCE: Dell Monitor won't stay on

When it goes black, does the power buton stay green or is it orange? If it's orange, the power supply/inverter is your main culprit. If the power button stays green, it sounds like the backlight for the display is bad. Either way, unless you have parts for the same monitor laying around to swap out, you're due for a new monitor. The good news- with the economy in the tank, you can search online and find some reputable vendors selling nicely sized screens for less than $100! Heck, I've even seen a 22" for $129 (once but it was there).

SOURCE: screen goes bank after 2 seconds even if powder light is on

i just finished repairing a 20 inch acer monitor that had the same issue.... you have to take it apart and examine the power supply side of the monitor. there are capacitors that go bad on that board. you can tell be feeling the tops of them... the feel rounded. replace the capacitors and put it back together and it will work fine

SOURCE: Westinghouse LCM-19W4

I had the same problem with my two LCM-19W4 monitors. Both failed within two months of each other. Radio Shack stocks 220uF 35V capacitors that work fine for this. You have to pay $1.49 ea though.

SOURCE: screen goes blank when first turned on, have to keep restarting m

Hello,

If you turn the monitor off then about 1020 sec turn it back on and have a picture for five sec again it sound like the power supply in the monitor. but if that did not solve the problem, the picture board on your monitor is bad, since it goes off after few seconds and the power led or button is on, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault and will need to be replace.

I advice you replace the picture board on the screen of your monitor to solve the problem of the blank screen.

Take care.

Monitor flashes the "AOC Eyes Value" logo without evr turning on

Man that really hurts.

Flashing logo of company on monitor screen means your monitor has power but not receiving data. Have to find a way to fix data, may be data cable ( vga cable ) of booting of computer itself

Try few things not sure solve your problem or not but really doesnt hurt to try

First, It looks you have loose VGA cabling. Try removing VGA cable completely and connect again

Link how VGA cable looks like
http://files.sandberg.it/products/images/lg/501-93_lg.jpg

Second, if above doesnt solve the problem, may be your VGA card has problem or your CPU is not booting up. Feel the breeze of fan on SMPS to see if it is working or not.

Hope this helps

Benq computer monitor shuts down after standby in energy saving..

There are 6 (reduced quality) capacitors in the BenQ Q9W5 which cause the screen over time to 'fail to sync' when turning on or resuming from standby.

They are;
4x 470uF 35v, and
2x 1000uF 16v.

I recommend the following replacements if you are in Australia (the ones I purchased from Jaycar only lasted 12 months);
(470uF) http://www.altronics.com.au/index.asp?area=item&id=R4865
(1000uF) http://www.altronics.com.au/index.asp?area=item&id=R5182

Some green color patch in the middle of the screen

Looks like you have an LCD. I was guessing it may be magnetic related in which case I would recommend you degaussed your display using the degauss function but your monitor won't have it since it's not a CRT by the looks of it. I would recommend contacting your dealer or where you purchased the monitor at a retail store. Since it's only 8 months old, you may be able to return it under warranty. If your retail store doesn't let you do that, talk to View Sonic directly and see if you can RMA your product for returning to the manufacturer and receiving a new or repaired unit.

Check out Viewsonic's website for more information.

Envision Series / AOC 22 hdtv monitor

Probably blown capacitors, the 19" widescreen uses 6 16V 1000uF
Do you have a soldering gun? Its not that hard to fix, get the capacitors on ebay for $6-$8 with shipping.

My monitor turns itself off

If it's only a few months old then send it back under warranty.
The fault you have is the inverter circuit.

Hope that helps. =)
