Could be the defrost sensor or timer circuit that is malfunctioning or a combination of both parts

Our GE Monogram (model #ZFSB27DAG SS) side by side is not keeping the refrigerator side cold. It seems to be working fine on the freezer but not the ref. although the ref. side does work but just barely....

First start by Cleaning Your Condenser. If your condenser is extremely clogged. Clean it and let it run over night. Then check if there is a difference in the morning. If your condenser is clean then disregard. Make sure that you have good air flow into the fresh food(refrigerator) section threw the damper control. Click here to see your damper it is number 426. Another thing to check. Open your freezer and look on the back wall to see if there is defrost frost forming. Sometimes you have to remove the back panel to verify if your coils are clear. If you have a defrost problem starting it will restrict air flow into the refrigerator section. This is the most common problem on your model. If you remove the panel and the coils are frosted and restricting air. You can take a hair dryer and defrost them to get yourself by for a few days. This would either be your defrost termination switch, defrost timer or defrost heater bad. Here is your UNIT. Click Here to contact me.

Hi My GE Monogram Fridge isn't cooling very fast. It takes forever for it to get to 37 F. The freezer works fine. I have noticed frost build up in the fridge (not freezer) near the back (there is a vent...

Sorry to hear about your problem.

Sounds like you have a defrost issue. Hence your unit is not defrosting. All of this apply's if your freezer side has ice on it. If not. you have other issues, this does sound funny, but this is why your refrigerator side is warm, or not cooling.

Here is a list of some things that can go wrong.
1. Defective heat coil
2. Defective defrost timer
3. Defective defrost sensor
4. Defective Fan
5. Defective compartment inlet damper (on some models)

You should call a service company to resolve your issue.

Since I tried to help you, Please help me and Rate/Vote on the response. Thanks

GE Monogram ZISW36DYA ... frozen ice-cycle rivulets run down both sides of freezer (water off for days to verify it is not ice maker) ... defrost control clicks when rotated and advances with time ... do...

Seems to me that might be a clogged defrost drain or maybe a dripping water valve. Doing that. I have the service manual with nice pictures in it that show clearly how to access the components.

GE Monogram will not accept freezer/fridge

Turns out the problem was because we didn't shut the freezer door tightly. The temperature re4set itself in about three hours. All OK and no expense :-)

GE Monogram freezer side working but refrigerator side is not.

Did you clean the condenser?  Is the unit FULLY defrosted?   Defrost fully!!!!!!
Did he check the amount of gas in the unit?  If your unit has low gas...it is in need of more.  R12 is expensive.
Check gas level:  Shut unit for at least one hour.  View compressor.  Several pipes...we're looking at the largest.  Start the unit.  This pipe will begin to frost.  If it does not clear to dry, ice or wet...stays frosted...it is low.  Get the repair guy back ... but ask how much he'll charge first.

GE Monogram Side by Side 42" Freezer light is lit on front panel.

The defrost timer is what I think you are asking. It is behind a cover near the light, The timer puts the fridge in defrost ever 6 to 8 hours. If the timer is bad it will stop the cycle of defrost and cause the freezer and the cold food section to warm spoiling the food and increase the freezer temp. Try turning the timer screw clockwise until you hear the fridge compressor stop. If after this listen for a crackling noise that will be the sound of defrost taking place. If doing this starts defrost, you will need to replace the timer.
